working out for Disney

You may also want to look into flying into NYC/Newark NJ and then into Denver. I know It's cheaper to fly from Europe into those airports than most others in the US they also have good domestic fares due to business travel. or at least they did I know a few people who saved money by doing that your mileage may vary
Oh there's always a layover somewhere. We've never flown directly into Denver except when we went through Iceland. But there's always a stop somewhere. Chicago, North Carolina, Cincinatti,...I think M had a stop at Dulles once...or maybe JFK? But the domestic flights PLUS the international works out to be more expensive...or it has every time we've gone. But LAX is a MAJOR hub...a lot of people travel there, whereas Denver is an international airport, but it's not really close to any of the major destinations like LA, NYC, or Chicago. People aren't traveling to Denver as a destination in itself. At least not internationally. The average European is going to see something specific in the US....Hollywood, or the Sears Tower, or Disneyworld, or NYC, or Las Vegas. So flights there are often cheaper because the airlines have to be more competetive with their pricing to those destinations, whereas who cares about Denver?? We've flown to MCO and then booked a separate flight to Denver and back to MCO when we went to my brother's wedding and then did Disney afterwards. We booked to Chicago and drove to Wyoming to bury my mom. We did MCO to Denver again in 2016. But it was more expensive than just flying to Denver. We only did it because we wanted to go to Disney AND visit my dad in Wyoming. But flying to LAX and driving would be different. There's no second flight to pay for. And we'd get to do Disneyland...something I've always wanted to do. And perhaps M would be on board if it's just a couple of days, and he could see Star Wars land. Wish me luck.

Adrienne posted her September schedule. Somebody tell me it will be ok if I double wrap my ankle this month looks like fun:angelic::angelic: https://yogawithadriene.com/septemb...tm_campaign=you-are-not-alone-september-build
What does your doctor say? Have you been cleared for routine exercise? If not, maybe you should ask what you're allowed to do and what not. You won't do yourself any favors if you re-injure your ankle. Then it will be even longer before you can get back to routine.

The doctor says absolutely nothing for at least 2 weeks:mad::mad: I had to fight for a boot instead of a cast. Me being the perfect patient would have left a cast on:angelic: Anyhoo seeing I didn't do the regular shopping last week I had to do an extra big shopping run today and my leg is more than done for the day

Well, my workouts have been non-existent and I feel like a slug!

The older one has been going in for softball every day, which means being out the door with her when I'd normally be working out. I could work out during lunch, but I've been so busy trying to keep the kids up to date with school and catching up on other things that it hasn't happened. My office is also a mess. The first of the bathroom renovations is currently going on and I have a bunch of stuff cluttering the office floor right now. I'm really excited to see the finished product, but major projects like this can be stressful and take a while. The meds my dr gave me are at least starting to help with the stress. We may also shift the kids to in-person to help. Yes, I'm worried about potential exposure, but I think this lack of structure at home and both of them starting new schools is making this harder on them. In other words, the in-person benefits might outweigh the risks.

On a side note, I also had some Disney stress in the mix. We're supposed to stay at the Poly in February. When news broke about the resort closing for major refurb, I thought we'd be moved, but I booked a studio villa and those are staying open since they can be booked as DVC. So, I had to rethink all of my resort plans, because I am not paying Poly prices for nothing being open and no monorail. I may change my mind if discounts come out and/or as more things open or change, but I decided to try something totally different and booked Old Key West. With the current state of things, we may be wanting to be closer to Disney Springs (really hope the boats start running by trip time) and may want the ability to cook more of our meals. Who knows, instead of taking a discount on the 1 bedroom I booked, I might upgrade to a 2 bedroom if the prices work out nicely. We're also driving, so we can cover transportation if needed.

I thought you had done the in-person because of softball. I thought the older one made a team that she could only participate if they were doing in-person? We don't have any option....it's all in-person. E starts Monday, A has already had his first week of school. I'm not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand, with everyone out of the house, it will be easier to maintain a routine, and I won't have to worry about being quiet so I don't disturb lessons or anything. On the other, the experts keep changing their minds about whether or not minors spread Covid and to what degree, so I don't know what the actual risks are and it feels kind of stupid to take that risk without knowing for sure. But since we don't get a choice in it, there's not much I can do about it if there is a risk. I guess we'll just have to see.

I guess I missed it that Poly is undergoing a refurb....nothing will be open? As much as I want to stay at the Poly, it would not be a good option if the Monorail is not running and the restaurants and such are closed. And especially at the pricepoint for Poly....Disney resort prices are already sky high in comparison to non-disney resorts with the same amenities and facilities. If those amenities and facilities are not available, it would definitely not be worth it in my opinion. But I suppose it depends on your vacation style....if you have your own vehicle and don't use the monorail, you could still visit the parks and eat in other restaurants. But there might also be a lot of construction noise. I hope you can find something that works out better! I wish we had the option of going in like...October/November or February/March when it's not so blooming hot!!

She strictly goes in for softball and then comes home. Option 3 from our district allows for things like this in person so that kids like her don't miss out, but everything else is still virtual for her. It's tough when there are no choices. We spoke to one of our dr's in early July and his opinion was that he wasn't overly worried about the kids. That's not to say there isn't risk, but he worried more about them bringing it home to us. We've been back in school for nearly a month now and we get notifications any time a case pops up at one of the school, along with details of the exposure and what's being done. The kids just said I needed to buy them more basic solid colored masks if they are to return to the physical classroom. So, I guess I need that squared away. I think the risk should be smaller if they can keep classes smaller and masks on, but we'll see.

From the way it looks, only the DVC rooms will be open at the Poly. Ours was a studio villa, which could be booked as DVC, so it would not have been part of the closure. We actually stayed at the Poly in 2014 during that round of construction and it wasn't bad, but we still had access to most amenities. We'll have my vehicle there, but I do like to take it easy and let Disney do the driving. Still, this is going to be a different kind of trip, so driving ourselves may be the best option for most things. I can deal with hot, but cooler is still more pleasant. Ijust hope it's not freezing. Our 2010 trip was ridiculously cold.

Doing pretty good with workouts since coming home from vacation. We went back to Hilton Head and then drive down to WDW. Took Sunday off to relax (and nap) and got right back to it yesterday.

Fitbit released an update that messed up my heart rate zones... 🤦‍♀️ Still trying to fix that. You can tell which week was the beach week when I did NOTHING and which week was the WDW week. 🤣

Yesterday has been the first day in weeks that I've put in any kind of exercise. I'm still not feeling great and have an appointment with a specialist that got bumped up to next week, so hopefully that helps too. Still, I figured some walking can't hurt. The older one has 2.5 hr softball practices for her private team and it's a huge complex. So, I just turned on a podcast and power walked for a little over an hour. It wasn't wonderful, but it wasn't awful either. I also forgot my watch, so i have no idea how far I went. I'm guessing it was around 4 miles. I did get some pretty cloud pics and it did help clear my mind on some school stuff. Our district is going back to every day in person as an option beginning next week. I'll spare you all of my thoughts, reasoning and issues, but we decided it was time. So, the kids started in person this week on the last week of a/b scheduling. I figure this will help them be ready for next week.

Best wishes to your children starting off their new school year. I hope everything works out well for them.

And I hope you feel better, after you get to see your doctor.

Beautiful cloud pics!!! I love the light coming through on that first one, where it's all glowy.

And is that a saxophone your youngest is carrying? They are looking so grown up!!
