working for disney and discounts!

ok. There is a disney store in the mall here in champaign. I have wanted to work there for a while, but never found a good time to, since I had 2 other jobs with both the university and with the YMCA.

but, I really almost need to work there now. I am going to disneyworld once at the beginning of next summer, and once at the end. discounts are a must!

Can someone tell me all of the benifits of working at a local store?

such as...

what kind of discounts I get and where I get them....

what kind of company perks....

and anything else you can think of!

Disney Store Castmembers receive a 20% merchandise discount, 35% after so many years. You'll also receive FREE theme park admission after you receive your ID, and 2 times a year you'll receive 2 1 day park hopper tickets. Your also eligible for Resort Discounts which range from 30 - 50% off. Those however are subject to availability.

Well i took my first job in retail at the disney store in toronto, canada. Since then ive worked in calgary alberta and most recently sacramento california so you can say i like it. The discounts are great especially for the resorts. You get your 35% after 3 years or if your a manager. Also you get some pretty good insider info. What your employee card doesnt get you is the ability to walk in the parks free like a wdw card. The product is getting really good there and the other cast members are friends for life.

I've worked at Disney Store Providence Place mall for almost two years now and you most certainly can gain park admission for FREE with your store ID. We have gone 6 times since I have been working there. You can also get a slight discount on park passes for guests. There is a special store called Company D located within each park that is just for cast members where you can purchase cast member exclusives and park passes. I have also gotten up to 50% off the resorts including our upcoming trip where I can book up to three rooms so we are going with two other couples and staying at Port Orleans for under $90 a night! But let's not forget why we work for Disney, it's not the discounts (although they rock) but because we love Disney!!! I work in the political field and let me tell you how much fun and stress free it is when I go into work at Disney Store!! If you have the opportunity go for it!!:sohappy: :sohappy:

No that is not correct. Your Disney Store ID does grant you FREE admission to all WDW Theme Parks, as well as the Disneyland Resort. I've used that feature many times.

I am not doing it just for that. I am also doing it because I love disney, I need a job that is in a good area of town, and I have always wanted to work in the happiest place in the mall. The NEED for the discounts is just a kick in the butt to find a new job.

no. you get a set price per night, depending on which cruise you want, and where you work at (ex.. WDW CM's for the 3/4 night, right now is $60 per night +all other fees)
