Good News!

The long-talked-about, seldom-received WDW Planning DVD arrived in the mail today!!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I ordered it on the Disney website on 12/12/02 and it arrived in all it's glory in today's mail.

SOOOOOOOOOO glad they finally shipped the DVD as requested instead of the Video Cassette version!!

Anyone else get one yet?????

I ordered one but didnt get one yet...is it the same as the cassete version anything special ya no extras special features ect.?

There was another post about this very recently.

It seems that there is a menu which allows you to choose exactly which park or resort you want to explore with a lot of interactive material.

A search for WDW DVD should help you find it as well as the comments from all those who have received it already.:)

(Those lucky ducks! I haven't gotten mine yet either, but my DVD player is cued up and ready for it!)

The video portion itself is the same, but it has an interactive map to skip around the video. However, they do have a couple of ride previews from each park, which I though was pretty cool!! (see the hairy leg:lol: )

woo hoo, i just received notification that my dvd came too. We are in Illinois!

I have to go pick it up from the post office cause they wouldnt leave it at my apartment for some reason!

seems like the box is big enough, i had a ton of mail today though, so maybe they thought it was something expensive and didnt want to leave it out...lol.

The DVD Has "Chapters" that you can skip to, including:

Magic Kingdom
Disney Studios
Animal Kingdom
Fast Pass
Epcot
Downtown Disney
Special Events (MVMCP and MNSSHP - says to check accompanying booklet or websit for details.)
More Fun (the Water Parks)
Resorts
More Vacation Music (Cruise and Vero Beach - says to check website for more details.)
Packages and Tickets
Closing

The SPECIAL FEATURES section Includes the following Items:

Interactive Theme Park map
Resort Gallery (including room layouts!)

Aren't the hosts differenet depending on what answers you pick when you are filling out the order form? I know my family always cheats and gets like 6 different videos and some of them are different depending on how old they "say" they are, if they are travelling with kids, and if they have ever been or how many times they've been.

It looks like everyone in the Buffalo, New York area received theirs yesterday!

I am very impressed with the DVD.

I just wish the pictures of the resorts in the interactive map section were not enclosed by that ugly border. It cuts out some of the photos.

THe attraction previews were neat. In the Haunted Mansion there are a few scenes I didn't reconize. Are some of them from Disneyland?

I agree with you on both points! The frame around the pics is a bit large.
Also, I said the same thing about the attraction section. A couple items look like DL scenes.

Sure was nice to see the beach, sun, and people wearing shorts again! 3 or 4 months and we can do the same here!!!
Guess Disney rushed the DVDs to the Northern Cities first because they know we need it MOST!

:lol:
