Wonka

Well, I said I came back with new Ideas, didn't I?

Here is one of the first that I am almost sure will be and instant classic, hopefully.
First Off, it would probably end up being a 'mini-land' because it consists of two parts, and secondly, it is supposed to be a 'kids' attraction for the most part, but, it still has enough thrill to entice the older generations.
Anyways, as the subject title sugests, it would indeed be based around 'Willy Wonka and the Choclate Factory', which, if I'm not mistakned, was a movie produced by MGM. I'd love it if I could get that verified. So, it would best fit in at disney-mgm studios. Now, I also think it should replace the Honey I shrunk the kids movie set adventure thing, the resteraunt next to it, and it would extend back into some of those fake building facades on Newyork street. This new 'Land' could be accesed on either side, either from mickey avenue, or new york street, and on both sides, people would be greated by big iron gates with the words "wonka' on them, just like in the movie. Then, they would walk through the doors of the Wonka factory, which would be a facade, of course. Here is were everything lightens up. Once inside the factory, bright colors and music abounds. if you were entering from new york street, to your left you would find 'The candy works' a huge ball pit with slides and nets to crawl on, that would resemble a candy production center, pipes on the roof would empty the candy 'balls' into the room, making it seem like they are playing in a big candy vault. There would be towers that kids could climb on and shoot the balls at other kids <softly of course> and so and and so forth.

Anyways, now moving back to the main attraction. To your right <once again, if you were entering from new york street> would be a candy store <of course> and the entrance to the factory tour. You it would be a water ride, because the movie had a boat section in it, and because MGM has no water ride yet. So, you go through the line, and finally reach the boarding area. You hop into you rboats, which would resemble the Jurassic Park boats, in that they are wide and sit about 5 people a row. the boat takes off and you are taken on a tour of the wonka factory, Umpa-Lumpas play about, and sing songs according to the scenes, such as the big chocalte waterfall, the air vents, the golden egg laying geese and the wonka-vision, just to name a few.

So, the ride has been pretty gentle so far, just flowng along...
Near the end, you would enter a big room, and over head, it would say Wonkavator or however its spelled, and it would be decorated much like an elevator, this is where the lift would be. The room would be dark, with little lights flickering, resembling elevator directional buttons, but pointing all over the place, you would reach the top, were you would be able to see all of the candyworks play area below, and then, Whoosh! Down you go, plummeting back down to a big splash finish. Then it would curve around and let you out, with little umpa-lumpa's waving good-bye to you
Whatya think? I was also considering different ways to make the water look like chocalte, the best i could come up with is to paint the ground under the water a chocalte brown, but other then that, I'm stumped.

Chad, I liked the idea. I agree, Disney-MGM Studios definitly needs a new kids playground and fast-food service eating area back there. I heard back awhile that Disney may renovate the playground to reflect the ever-popular A Bug's Life movie.

The only thing about the Wonka Factory, besides being WB's rights...is there enough room for everything you're proposing? Especially the water ride...

Well, Aliens was a warner brother's movie, and they bought the rights from there, maybe WB would play nice and let em' use them.
ANd from what I can see on the park maps, and from looking at the area last week on my vacation, it seems to be big enough

Oh poo.
Well, WB let ABC show Wonka on tv, maybe they are willing to play with the mouse too?

< Playing it on TV is a little different than making a ride out of it. >

Um, thats true!
But atleast it shows that they are willing to negotiate...I didn't mean that they were buddy-buddy..

Also,
<i wasn't done>I posted it more to find out what people thought of the ride, we are not actually trying to get this built, I'm not all too concerned with the copyrights....I would rather hear what you guys thought about the ride rather then get in a fight over who has the rights for what and wheter or not the companies will let them build it. Thats Eisner talk. I would much rather talk Imagineer talk, and discuss our ride dreams.

Sorry, I just got basically to exact same responses on two different posts, about 'the company not owning the rides' and when they posted it, they didn't critique the ride, started making me a little upset.

* that was supposed to be 'the company not owning the rights' not rides, sorry, I promise that this will be the last post :)

Gee, I didn't know that I could do that! I apologize to everyone if I messed anything up by spamming...I am sorry. Just didn't want people to get confused...
I guess you learn something new each day! And I discovered how to use the edit button!

You know there is an "edit" button which allows you to edit your posts or add more to it. I'd rather see one big post, than have you "spam" the board by posting 3 at a time.

Chad, Question
you said it could Replace the Honey I Shrunk the Audiance?
that's at Epcot.
How would you Enter from the New York Side? in the MGM studios?

I think Chad meant the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set playground. You know, where all the slides and stuff look like grass.

Yeah, Kontra got it, It would be the playuground. But you bring up another point as t why It should be removed, I think they rely on a movie a bit too much for attractions, sometimes..I mean, HISTA is great, but then you also have the play ground...and this movie wasn't that great.

Wonka Cnady is made by Nestles Cnady and food Company. Which is also a sponser of the Land in EPCOT. They could use them as a sponser. The candy store could be a Nestles Store and the rights to the name Wonka and stuff could be purchased from Nestles not WB.
