I never experienced Wonders of Life. It looks cool.
It was pretty cool. Not the best pavilions at Future World or anything to be fair of course (tough competition against what were very arguably some of the absolute greatest rides ever created with Horizons, World of Motion, Imagination, Spaceship Earth, etc). But I heard WoL was built on a very small budget and it's impressive considering how much they managed to accomplish with so little money. I don't remember the exact figure but I recall it being pretty small and I heard it was because the rest of Epcot had used up most of the budget already. They worked creatively within limitations and STILL managed to create an incredibly charming and memorable pavilion.

It was pretty unique I must say. No doubt the highlight of this pavilion was the Body Wars ride. I know that it's pretty similar to star tours but none the less, this was one of my favorite EPCOT attractions when I was younger (in second grade).

Sadly, what Merlin said is true.

I'm a former cast member. One of the last things I did as a CM was work the 2012 Flower and Garden Festival. So of course, I was all over the place backstage at Wonders. I never saw WoL in its "glory days", but it's definitely not there now. Though you may be surprised at how much still is. Bits and pieces of Cranium Command and Body Wars are still in the building. It actually made for some rather CREEPY feeling moments going to get some things from the back (both rides are primarily used for Festival storage now). Kind of like wandering through an abandoned carnival.

But, the queue to Body Wars ends in a solid wall now (that area is also primarily used for Festival storage). The building has morphed into the Festival Center and that's just what it's going to be, with 2 successful and long-standing festivals every year. The amount of work that would be required to "bring back WoL" would be far beyond the nostalgic return on investment.

Hope I didn't crush any dreams,
Sean

PS - Feel free to ask questions about the building. I saw a good portion of it.

Why bump? This thread is about 7 years old now and Wonders of Life will almost certainly never return in its original state if at all. From what has been said in more recent times, both Cranium Command and Body Wars have basically been gutted and cannibalized for spare parts (otherwise had parts trashed or sold off on ebay or whatever). It's probably a fair statement to say that Wonders of Life is dead. The building is used as convention space and it will probably remain that way for a very long time, if not forever. If the building ever reopens again to the general public, it will probably be with a different theme. And with how things currently are at WDW, even that is unlikely to happen anytime soon. The leaders (sad and shameful though it is) seem to be perfectly satisfied with keeping it the way it is. Same goes for the upstairs level of Imagination (not to mention a rather huge portion of the original ride's track being unused as well).
What does bump stand for?

Judging by the fact that you don't have many posts I will tell you. It means that someone found this dormant thread from days of yore and really didn't have a comment but for some inexplicable reason wanted it back in the mainstream of current posts. So they type in the words "bump" and post it and like WDWMagic, it's bumped back in our consciousnesses, at least for a little while. I don't think this one will last very long.

Body Wars came first...and in it's first incarnation proved too much for rider's stomachs (like mine), so it had to be scaled back.
I STILL THINK IF BODY WARS HAD BEEN CHANGED, THE PAVILION COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED, LIKE THE LAND WAS WHEN SOARIN REPLACED Food Rocks/Kitchen Kabaret
The problem with Body Wars was it was not very exciting and went nowhere (who wants to travel through the bloodstream and brain over and over again)...if this attraction, instead, visited various 'Wonders of Life' (wonders of the world), then, like Soarin' it would have been a real people pleaser. And if, like Star Tours now, it visited a random (let's say) 7 amazing places, then every ride would be different. The take off from Epcot would have been standard (ala Flight to the Moon you viewed your lift off from Tomorrowland), as would have the landing, and near the end of the ride something would go wrong warping the vehicle to somewhere unknown (another Galaxy, Pandora, a DeathStar)...and bring back venison stew.

It was really sad how Disney let this Pavilion die instead of trying to save it, especially considering how popular the other 'internal' pavilion The Land was. I imagine that Disney just decided that it was just wasn't profitable to support a 7th pavilion.
The REAL sad part was losing Cranium Command, one of the best attractions ever made.

It's still awesome on the inside. They could clearly do something there and it's more relevant now than ever when you look at the unhealthy and fat state of Disney guests AKA Americans these days. Maybe they don't want to alienate them.
