I don't think a 'killer dark ride' is the way to go. As a lifelong Disney fan, I want to see some of the fun and magic stay in Epcot. Also, as someone who has worked as an agent, people don't always want killer rides. Most people are going t Disney for their unique combination of rides and again, the MAGIC.

Yeah thrill rides don't necessarily equal success.
The most popular rides are The Haunted Mansion and Pirates Of The Caribbean. Both have a top speed of like 5MPH.

I'm not sure where you're getting your stats... but I HIGHLY doubt either of those are "the most popular rides" at this time.

Actually, according to 2005 statistics, Pirates of the Carribean was the ride that was guest-wise the most popular of the Disney parks. Again, it is because it appeals to everyone and everyone can get on it. There are almost no restrictions, and families and adults can enjoy it together. I love a thrill ride as much as the next guy, but I like that DIsney can offer something different.

Sorry, your facts are wrong.. The attraction that is ALWAYS number one at the Magic Kingdom, and throughout WDW is It's a Small World... When it went down for its massive refurb, the second place attraction moved up, which was Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.
Pirates, if I remember correctly, is in the top 10, but pretty low, I want to say 7th, 8th, or 9th

Sounds like we're talking about two different things. I'm talking about actual ridership whereas it appears you may mean survey results.

Well most popular or not, you can't deny that POTC or THM are two of the best rides. Though I guess that's down to opinion. I was just trying to make the point that slow rides are often more popular.

For the record It's A Small World and Space Ranger Spin aren't exactly white knuckle rides either...

Right, but if it is opinion then the poster shouldn't say things like

The truth is, you don't know.. You make up stuff and then try and convince others of your point of view without having the information... For people who actually know the data, you sound foolish and self-serving.. To people who don't know the data, the false sense of assurance you give them leads to people believing that kind of schlock..

I bet hearing wrong information isn't as irritating as being called, "foolish" "self-serving" and a "fool" in a single post.

If you do happen to know the data, please go ahead and correct me. I'm just not so keen on the bit-by-bit criticism.

No, its a thousand times more irritating, because people read that, and if there is no one around to correct it, people start to believe that... And that causes problems of its own... Simply because one person wanted to try and make themselves sound A: ) more reliable as a source of Disney information (which they are not, familiarity does not breed comprehension) or B: )more intelligent (which to those who actually know the information, makes them slap their foreheads)

Already posted the correct information, as a rebuttal... But I shouldn't have had to AS A REBUTTAL... You simply should have sucked it up, realized you don't know the right information, and asked. I would have been happy to answer to the best I can. Instead, by making stuff up, you encourage this kind of dead-end discussion.

EDIT - You had it right, earlier, when you said
Though I guess that's down to opinion
... Because I have no problems with people having opinions, and expressing them... That's what message boards are for... My problems sneak in when people try to PROVE their opinions with made up facts... It is your opinion that Pirates and Mansion are great, I happen to share that same opinion... But no matter how much I want it to be true, its not going to be proven by guest carried, or guest satisfaction numbers saying they are the best in the park

So, anything good on television tonight?

No... When is there ever anything good on TV? But the Magic Kingdom has a showing of special 4th of July fireworks tonight, should be pretty cool

Nice, but wait are you American?

I certainly hope so... Otherwise I need to get new passports... I know its not the fourth, but the plan is for the park to be less crowded tonight then tomorrow... So, I will see the MK's 4th firework show tonight, and the I will see Epcot's and Pleasure Island's show tomorrow (I hope PI still does their show, haven't been able to contact anyone at DTD who actually knows
