I noticed this on the disney website in the Operational Updates section:

Body Wars: Operates Seasonally; Temporarily Closed [October 13, 2006 to October 31, 2006]
Cranium Command: Operates Seasonally; Temporarily Closed [October 13, 2006 to October 31, 2006]
The Making of Me: Operates Seasonally; Temporarily Closed [October 13, 2006 to October 31, 2006]

I know it has been like that for awhile now but I saw this.....

In January 2007 this is what they have listed:

Body Wars: Operates Seasonally; Temporarily Closed [January 1, 2007 to January 31, 2007]

Here is the link:http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...lendarRefurbishmentsListingPage&date=20070101

I was just wondering if anyone has any info on Wonders of Life. When I saw this I thought it was odd that they would not list the other 2 attractions. Is it going to open back up? Is it being gutted out as we speak? Is there a new attraction being built. If anyone has any info I would appreciated it!

There are frequent, unexplained errors on the Disney web site. For a large company that pockets a billion dollars per year from their parks, they sure don't do a good job keeping that stuff up to date. People who have been to the parks in recent months can give you more info on what is really going on. What I have heard, unofficially, is that WOL still contains Body Wars, Cranium Command, and the Making of Me, but that everything else is gone including the shops, and that the pavillion is only open during very busy parts of the year. We actually thought it was closed forever, but they still open it on occaision. Others will add more clarity.

It has been doing that for over 6 months now i think. They probably still have it flagged in their system as seasonal with no opening dates. Don't expect it to open up anytime soon though :)

Body Wars

I thought we had a post in like January that body wars was removed. (In 3 weeks time i belive) We need to get someone in there to find out. I remember the days when body wars opened and the lines were unbeliveable. In the past few years (while it was open) it has been a walk on and ride twice if you want. And lets be honest, body wars pulled in the people and then they experienced the rest of the pavillion. With body wars being outdated and so rough the pavillion had no draw. I loved body wars, it was (correct me if im wrong) the first motion sim at a disney park. When i rode it the first i was blown away.

As much as i love old EPCOT pavillions, they are the minority in the New EPCOT. This being said it starts to make me wonder if attractions like Soarin, Mission:Space, Test Track have become the standard of the theme of the park. Pavillions like WoL and UoE are great but they seem out of place in the EPCOT of today.

Probably will still open for X-Mas ... everything is still in there. Beyond that I don't think it would attract enough attention to stay open any more. I wish someone would sponsor it!

It's been closed our last 3 visits to Epcot...kind of a shame to have a whole building with attractions just sitting there closed! Are they rehabbing it or anything?

Makes no sense to just leave a whole building in a place like Epcot on permanent semi-closure...why would they do this?

I've been in Wonders several times since my arrival, most recently about a week ago, and Body Wars is most definately still there!

The answer I've always gotten when asking is that they have no sponsor.

I was told by a CM that WoL should be open between Thanksgiving and New Years. Evidently this was in the CM news artical. I'll be there during that time so hopefully i'll get to see it for maybe one last time...

I would be so happy to go in Wonders of Life again if it's open in Dec. I haven't been inside since '92 and I remember waiting 90m for Body Wars back then, it was a huge deal at the time.

The pavillion, as far as I know, is being used for conferences and events but the attractions remain untouched.

Recently it's been used for Food and Wine training. And as for the attractions being "untouched" I don't know about that. From what I have been told, the company that manufactured Star Tours/Body Wars has either gone out of business, been sold, or something or other that has prevented Disney from being able to recieve replacement parts for either attraction. Now, if one of the sims on Star Tours, an attraction that still pulls in strong crowds, breaks down and needs parts, where do you think Disney is going to get them from? Body Wars. Sure, I'm sure there's enough talented individuals to design and manufacture replacement parts, but wouldn't it be much cheaper and efficient to borrow them from an attraction that has been defunct now for how long?

I still really think that this is just wishful thinking on so many parts. I have also heard the rumors about the tax write off etc etc, but I honestly don't know any kind of details about that. I just have a feeling that the pavilion is not going to reopen, at least in it's current state.

I want one of those exercise bikes that has you riding through Disneyland, but I'd make a WDW version.
I think they're called Life Cycles?

Opening it for the holidays means more area overall in the park, which means being able to let more people into the park.

They need a sponsor to open the pavilion? Do all of them have sponsors just to stay up and running? Doesn't the park itself act as a sponsor... where does all the $$ from tickets go?

Someone else had mentioned (I thought) that the countries themselves were somehow funded by their host nations too...is this true?

Maybe others know how this all works, just not I!

Yes the countries sponsor the pavilions and pay for them.. thats why there is advertisment for the countreis there. As for the FW pavilions, the cost of running them and up keep is why they have the sponsorship. Disney makes money hand over fist but why not have GM or HP pay Disney to run the rides? Makes for more money for Disney and Advertisment for the company... helps em both in the long run.
