My GF and I were lucky enough to win a 4 day all inclusive trip to Universal Orlando but would like to instead use the time to visit WDW since neither of us have ever been there either. Would anyone recommend doing that or should we just spend our time at Universal?

Yeah, don't forsake Universal for Disney, it's just as good or better. If anything, spend three days at Universal, and then get a park hopper for one day at Walt Disney World just so you can see some highlights.

Youd be crazy not to use it, you won it, its all inclusive, why not? If you have never been to Uni, youll enjoy the experience. Theres lots of great attractions and things to do there. If after a couple of days there, you want to try a day at WDW, then spend your money on a day trip to MK and then decide if the last day is going back to Uni or another WDW park. But if someone handed me a FREE trip to Uni I'd sure take it.

Yep, not only take the free trip, but enjoy every minute of it.

This past July we did Universal instead of Disney and it was great. Definitely take advantage of everything there since it is FREE. And since you haven't been to either, you will not be comparing the 2 like most of us who have been to both tend to do.

GO and ENJOY yourselves. Disney will be there for many years to come.

If you have the cash just burning a hole in your pocket, you could spend it on the one day hopper and rush through Disney. But you would just be rushing through and only hit a highlight or 2 in each park. It wouldn't really be worth it for a first time visit.

Why not do the best of both worlds? If you're going all that way... add 3-4 days to the trip and visit WDW after you've been to Universal. (Assuming that the trip you won includes airfare, simply ask whomever is arranging it for you if you can go back after 7-8 days instead of 4, and explain that you plan to stay in the area a little longer to sight see. No need to mention the big "D" word. If the travel plans are set in stone and you have to go back after 4 days, then do 2-3 days at Universal and the remaining 1-2 days at Disney World.)

Does the all inclusive include rental car? You'd have to travel by taxi or shuttle (Miers?) between the two resorts if you can do as others have suggested. I would do as Weather_Lady suggested and extend your trip by a few days and go stay at Disney.

Enjoy Universal. Either add a day for Disney or only give up 1-2 of your Uni days for Disney, but I'd enjoy the rest of the free time at Uni.

Do not skip Universal. I've only been once and those are my 2nd and 3rd favorite parks in Orlando. So many great attractions. If you must do Disney, get a 2 day Park Hopper.
