All new or refurbished Disney resort pools are now fenced to keep the pools exclusively for resort guests only (MagicBand required for entry), and for safety and liability purposes (the building codes have changed over the years.)The main WL pool has been fenced in and looks terrible. Why it is fenced in is beyond me (if for safety - how come it was unsafe from WL construction until now?).
Yep. I wish the new fences were a little less sloppily executed, but the concept of fenced-in pools is here to stay. All new or refurbished Disney resort pools are now fenced to keep the pools exclusively for resort guests only (MagicBand required for entry), and for safety and liability purposes (the building codes have changed over the years.)

Have you seen the fence "transition" at the bridge in front of Silver Creek Falls (think that's what it's called)?Although the fence is different, new within the last year/main pool refurbishment, I disagree that it is poorly executed. The color, structure and design blend in nicely with the Wilderness Lodge resort theming. I for one will enjoy the magic band entrance feature when it is installed which will not allow for resort pool hopping.

It's a matter of opinion, but this would be sloppy on my backyard deck. Let alone at a deluxe resort at Walt Disney World:Sure have many times. Granted that is not ideal but I wouldn't refer to the design as sloppy. For those who have not visited I think that description leads to something the fence is not in my opinion. The fence is very nicely build and blends into the WL theme quite well I believe.
I wish I had a photo of it, but the new fencing along the bridge right next to the pool side bar is quite awkward. It's made for a very narrow walkway along the bridge as they had to place a fence right down the center to separate pool guests from guests just crossing the bridge outside the pool boundaries. It's a pain when you have strollers and wheelchairs going in opposite directions.Sorry that is the fencing by the bridge/waterfall and side entrance. I was referring to the fencing around the pool with the woodland details. But at the same time I am not sure what is "sloppy" about the fencing right here. In all reality it doesn't matter everyone is entitled to their own opinion and some may see this in whatever vision they see.
Oh, how true. Had spouse in wheelchair for last visit and this area of the walkway was very congested almost every time we passed this way. (This was the best route to the Villas.) Hopefully they will find some way to correct it before the next visit. Very little thought was put into the fencing along this area - possibly they just could have widened the walkway in that area and not harm the viewing of the geyser.I wish I had a photo of it, but the new fencing along the bridge right next to the pool side bar is quite awkward. No, probably only a year to 15 months to build a pool and new restaurant next to it. The area should open early 2017.It's going to take them 2 years to build a swimming pool?
