Sorry if this was posted already, but I haven't seen it here yet. The Silver Springs Pool and Hot tub is scheduled to be closed 1/29 - 3/2/07.:(

Just an assumption...but the way it normally works is that during the rehab. period, Guest at the DVC lodge who would have used the Silver Springs pool will be able to use the Wilderness Lodge pool. Maybe I'm mixed up.

Guests of the DVC & Lodge usually use both pools anyway.

True...but not sure if it's technically allowed. :D

I have never seen anyone turned away, nor have we ever been stopped from using the quiet pool. I've even seen the lifeguard direct DVC'ers to the "pool with the slide". When we stayed at the Boardwalk Inn the other summer the location of the quiet pool was marked for us on the map (as is the quiet pool at the WL) and DVC'ers also use the larger pool.

We have stayed at the WL almost 10 times (you lose count after awhile  ) and the pools are always marked for us by the CM when we check in.

It isn't pool hopping when they are located on the same property, only DVC'ers have the right to hop and, if I'm not mistaken, even that is subject to rules.

no, if you think about it, even the resorts that are not DVC have quiet pools that you may use or main pools. As long as it is not a different resort, it isn't pool hopping

I believe that if they are located on the same resort property then the pools are available for use. In fact, DVC members can "hop" to any other DVC resort pool at their leisure (so long as that pool has not reached capacity). The only resort pool that is not available to "hop" to is the Yacht and Beach club pool (this obviously does not apply to those members actually staying at the YBC). :)

This is also true of the AKL pool.

[DVC members staying at DVC resorts on points can hop to any WDW resort pool.]

I can beleive that there are restrictions, but how do they know who is staying at the resorts and who is not?
anyone could walk onto any of the resorts property and hop into a pool.

They have the right to ask to see your resort ID at the pools and escort you off if they don't match (each resort has its own code). I have seen them do it at the WL and at the Poly.

At one time pool hopping was allowed, but with the many resorts (at all levels of price) there is no longer a need for it.

I know for Fact that at Check-in for Ft. Wilderness you are REQUIRED to sign a form declaring you will not visit another resorts pool, including WL.

DVC Pool-hopping reminder "Hopping" to select pools throughout the Walt Disney World Resort is among the many perks of Disney Vacation Club Membership. Please remember that pool hopping isn't available at Uzima Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. Due to expected high occupancy said:

Really...I wonder how long this has been in effect?

Two summers ago we watched a family come off the dock/walkway and head over to the pool at the WL. They got towels and chairs and just as the kids hit the water the lifeguard asked the parents for ID. He then told them they would have to leave as they were not guests of the WL. The kids were crying as they left and the parents were not very happy at all. :(
