With the Price Increases and Cuts, Are you Delaying your Visit?

When are you planning on going to WDW next?

  • This Year (2016)

  • Next Year when Avatar opens (2017)

  • 2018

  • 2019

  • Not until Star Wars Land finally opens

  • No Way. I can't afford to go anymore.

Pretty simply Discussion.

Given the cutbacks, cuts in entertainment as well as cuts in hours to Waterparks & DQ in addition to the price hike at the front gate, are you planning on delaying your trip to WDW? When are you planning on going again?

No. Trip was in the books since December (for August). We skipped last year and have to use our DVC points that are banked. We buy APs and ironically, the new Gold pass works perfectly for us and I think saved us a little (repeat...little) money.

Actually the cutbacks are not even a factor for me. I really don't believe that there will be much difference in the experience. (sorry, but a lot of those CM's just stand around talking to each other and I am not a fan of the street shows plus I don't stay in the Resort Hotels). My concern is more the ticketing method. Not so much the cost, but, the fact that I always bought a 10 day non-expiring ticket and used it when I felt like it. I might go 4 days or I might go 2 days and combine my Florida visit with other things. Now I have to buy the number of days that I am going to actually be in the parks, something that I never really think about until I'm there. So, not only will I not be getting the "good" discount, but, my entire way of touring is completely destroyed. I will probably still go, but, no where near as often as I used to. I will, in affect, spend fewer days, (by a lot) at WDW, but will be spending less money instead of more. I guess we both lose.

Our last trip to WDW was the end of 2013. Since we have been to DL once and Universal Orlando once and are heading back to DL in April. We decided to wait until after Avatar is open to go to WDW again. No official date set.

I'm in more of the "Wait & See" area due to being a AP holder...And it expires in 2017 so I have to find out what happens to those prices even for renewal. It's going to be a while..

I have an annual pass so no effect on me as of now until renewal. I'll still review though when that time comes, I don't think the FL res price went up to bad

I renewed my pass by in December and a trip planned for the beginning of March. I have family who is going down in May and I'm staying practically free with them for the entire week. After this year I might skip a year just to give some new stuff time to open.

Whether or not we go as planned has more to do with Disney doing something at WDW to actually justify the price increases more than it has to do with the gate price. For now, Universal has been doing far more in that respect than Disney so we go there more often.

I've been 2 years in a row now, 2014 and 2015, with friends and then family. I'll probably pass on going back to wdw for the next few years. I still have dreams of traveling to Europe.

We have already booked and paid for our July (I know...) trip, so no effect on this year. However, it definitely might be another few years in between trips this time.

A few dollars more wouldn't be a big difference to me. Supply and demand. Is this a current logo? Very 90's. I'm not seeing it on any official Disney site, but I like it.

I'm a broke college student, but fortunate enough to have CM friends that would use their discounts and passes to help me have an affordable trip. Without that, a solo trip for a few days becomes out of my budget. I don't foresee myself going back for a few years, and frankly, between the budget cuts and the lack of additions to the parks, I'm not bothered by my decision in the slightest.

The ticket prices have no impact on our plans, but we probably won't go back (like big trip - go) until 2018 since we need to sink the $ into some home stuff and sell our house/move.

Making a quick trip due to a conference being help at the Dolphin. If I didn't have one day left on a 3-day FL resident ticket I wouldn't go to a park at all...which leads me to a question: am I correct in assuming I can still get in with this ticket that was bought last Fall before this ridiculous new pricing structure?

I don't plan on heading out until 2021 when the 50th kicks off, that is if there is a celebration and all the construction is complete.

We go every other year and this summer should be our next trip. We are holding off till next year. Not necessarily because of the pricing, but want to go after Avatar opens to at least have a little more to see.
