I saw that...what exactly is wrong with her? (I'm curious, b/c WHF might have had the same thing wrong with him when he was a kid. But i don't think he had surgery.)
This was what her email said: She has a coarticulation of the aorta and something that closes around a week old closed improperly so that her heart and whole body was shutting down. She also has a little hole in her heart that is less serious and more common, often those holes close on their own.

It's scary because she's been completely healthy and happy...and just had a great check-up w/ the doctor. Then she started refusing food and became uncharacteristically inconsolable. She took her took to the doc and "as a precautionary" he sent them to the NYU ER. She said within a minute of getting her there, they had her on a stretcher and a whole team of ER doctors and staff were all over her and had put IV, oxygen etc. Apparently she had had a cardiac problem and her whole body was shutting down.

Again, I cannot even imagine having to watch that happen to my 1 week old baby...:(

Oh, well I have days like that too. But I pretend I am Hannah Montana.

That is a very pretty name. I hope she recovers quickly.
Thanks, me too.
I read that!
So sorry Steph!
Shortly after Lauren was born we had a bad scare. Our family doctor gave her her first check-up and rushed us straight to the hospital...He was sure she had a serious heart condition. :dazzle: As it turned out, she had a heart murmur which healed itself by the time she was 6 months old. That was frightening enough for us. So sorry that for your friends it turned out to be real.
Wow, that's scary!

Yeah, I don't know if I have told any of you this, but I am a big Miley Cyrus fan. I love her music and that she is a Christian girl in Hollywood. I hope no one holds thing against me for being a HM fan. :p

I just googled her. She has been in so many films!
I like Miley...I watch Hannah Montana all the time.

Wow, that's scary!

It was.
Especially since our doctor scared us to death!
She was only 3 days old and as he was checking her out, he listened to her heart, turned to us and said "The hospital didn't tell you there was anything wrong with her?" He then went on to say that she had serious heart problems that needed immediate attention. He was furious! Yelling at us as if we were somehow responsible. We were floored. (and we never went back to him again.) We went straight to the hospital where a children's cardiologist put her through all sorts of tests (she was sooo tiny) :( and determined that things weren't as serious as they looked.
But it was horrible.

Never! I'm 31, almost 32, years old and I just downloaded one of her songs...very catchy and I love it! Actually....I'm borrowing my fiance's iPod and downloaded it onto there. And didn't tell him, will just wait for him to find it on his own and hope that the volume is up really loud when he does so people hear. :goodnevil

I can still see her on the examining table.
It's burned into my brain.
We found out later that, right before we got there, a long-time patient of the doctor's died suddenly in the office during a routine exam. Apparently the doctor was more than a little upset and didn't have as good a grip as he might otherwise have had. But we knew none of that at the time.

Is it the one they're playing on the radio? I heard it for the first time yesterday while in my brother's car. He had it on a CD. (He's got such an interesting taste in music. He's got rap and then goes to Paula Abdul (her new one) and then Miley. He's a weird one.) It's called...See You Again.

Wow! Just wow.

In hindsight, he should have maybe taken a few minutes to compose himself better. Or I'd say maybe canceled the rest of his appts, but that might have angered you, since you were already sitting there. But hey, it would have been better than him yelling at you guys.
