Hey, does anyone have pictures of Wishes with the castle all dressed up with the decorations on it. Does the lighting sffects on the castle still look good with all the gold on the castle? If anyone has pics i would love to see them!

We need to setup a site that we can post our pics with out this happening. I know it would be hard, but we could use watermarks (Though i have not been and my IASW pics are all over the net!) and perhaps the right-click funtion that disables your right button for saving. Im trying to think of a site that does this.... But it could be a massive site, but wed have to figure out how to access it. Login Usernames and such..just an idea... photodave? any ideas?

Maybe i've gotthe wrong website that was swiping them, but it happened to Speck76.

Either way, some websites have been ripping off photos from here and I'll find a way to get some new stuff out there, just its gonna be awhile.

As someone who has worked on the web in the past, I can say that there is no 100% sure fire way of protecting your photos except for large watermarks that are light and take up the entire photo. My best advice is if you're gonna take photos and you don't want them spread around the net, don't post them. Otherwise, you need to accept the fact that people will take your photos and use them on their site. Most respectable sites will usually ask first though... but there are always a few that won't. And there's nothing you can really do for that.

The surefire way is to actually register the photos with the copyright office and then break off a lawsuit in their rear. That'll shut down a few morons.

Could you guys not just add your name at the bottom of the photo, i doubt anyone would be sad enough to crop the image to get rid of your name...

Watermarking it with Photoshop somewhere in the middle of the pic is probably the best way to tag it. But, that also suck because it ruins the picture.

Putting a copyright reference on the picture doesn't seem to stop some of the folks doing this. They just crop it out and post the pic.

I spent 3 days last week chasing down unauthorized posts. I ended up having to block referrals to the images on my website so that only authorized sites could post links to them. There was a European site that posted links to some of the castle images and I was getting like 1,000 hits a day on 2 pictures. I blocked the referrals and now they can't do it anymore. It's just sad that people have so little respect for others efforts.

It's also important to note that there are some site administrators who do the right thing and ask permission for use of images before doing so.

While its true that "if you can see it, you can steal it".... Im annoyed that the Disneyana community as a whole has decided to behave this way. Quite undisneylike.

Thankfully i've only had one run in with someone over these matters....

You've been lucky then, especially with the quality of what you typically post.

I can identify at least 8 different sites (2 of them European) that I know of that have taken mine. The only thing that saved me was most of them were posted as IMG links and with the reporting on the web site, I could track them down. Now they are blocked by default unless I explicitly authorize it. I'm sure there are still others I haven't found that just took the pics and posted them though.

I think its a mistake to think that the Disneyana community would act any differently than any other community, just because it involves Disney. Plus, you could make the argument that the company is no longer setting a "disney-like" example for people. But, That's an entirely different topic.

Thanks Don. Thats why i watermark everything, and usually post things at a very low resolution.

Cory, youve got a point there. After working and seeing how people behave in the parks, nothing shocking anymore.
