There is not a good place to do this at WL. There are a few public places where you might be able to see a few of the higher shells over the tress but that is about it.

Head over to the TTC and you will get one of the best out of park views of Wishes you can get without forking over $300 for a fireworks cruise.

Not really any good views from the resort. We watched high ones from the parking lot North (I think it's north) one time because we needed to get back to our room. Otherwise take a boat to Contemporary or TTC has a great view by the entrance to the boat launch.

I was very pleased with our view of the fireworks from our fifth floor standard view room in May. With the recent tree removal, I'm sure it's even better now. We even saw Wishes from our balcony at Yacht Club in October!

With the clear cutting of trees in preparation for the new water front villas, you should be able to see Wishes from a north facing room balcony on one of the upper floors. Our woods view villa now has a lovely view of the Lake, along with the sad treeless mud lot, the bermed beach and the back of the building down by the Lake. I sure hope Disney plans on doing some reforesting once the new villas are completed.

The beach at Wilderness Lodge is currently closed through 2017 for construction of the new DVC bungalow cabins.

The view today (12/17/15) from woods view room 6018:

And the view of the castle crowned in icicle lights and the neon from Tomorrowland tonight blows this daytime view out of the water! Can't wait to watch Holiday Wishes!

Not entirely true. I could easily see the Castle and Astro Orbitor from the fifth floor walkway near the elevator in May.

And I've had a sixth floor north side room and could barely see the top of the Castle over the trees from our balcony. They may have already started cutting down trees when you visited in May. We've stayed several times in the main Lodge in an upper floor room on the north side facing the MK and have never had such a nice view of the Castle like @Tuvalu posted.

Are the boats running from WL? I had looked up the transportation to MK from WL (which I have used extensively in the past) and they didn't show the little boat symbol.
