I was just listening to some of my favorite sounds of DW on youtube and came across something very interesting. On the track for wishes, there was a comment below that someone stated 2013 is the last year for Wishes and that they will be starting something new next year.

If you go on the website and scroll to the bottom of the page it's the comment at the bottom. I don't mean to start any uproars, but wanted to see if anyone knew if this was actually true.

She took a rumor from this site as fact. Barring any sudden announcements by Disney, Wishes is staying.

It would be a really tough situation. You have a great show like wishes or illuminations that you love and would never want to see disappear, but than again you might gain an even better show if they did move on from them, maybe. I for one love them and would want them to stay, I would be afraid of what would follow.

That's a good way to analyze the situation. For me, I'm more of a "latest and greatest" type of person so that's why I'd be in favor of a new fireworks spectacle for the MK. Which would be something of caliber toward the Disney Dreams spectacle over at DLP.

WISHES CANNOT GO!!! That would be way too depressing! Wishes is the culmination of a magical day at the Magic Kingdom, it would be like a Disney World without Mickey. Hopefully this is just some sick rumor!!
That seems a bit overboard. There will always be fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. Even if "Wishes" left, there would be a new show to take its place. It's only been around since 2003 which means it's not exactly "classic" Magic Kingdom.

A new show is long overdue, IMO. A show with more firepower like Illuminations, or with more spectacle/imaginative use of fireworks like Disneyland's Remember Dreams Come True, or even just a change in script and music selection would be most welcome. Maybe something incorporating the castle's projection mapping or fountains in the moat like Disneyland Paris' show. Many of the Disney empire's newer nighttime shows worldwide are starting to put Wishes to shame.

Fireworks are like parades, there should always be one but ought to stay fresh. It's not like Wishes leaving would mean the end of the fireworks/castle/Disney music combo.
