Is it worth the price? How good is the view of the fireworks and Tinkerbell's flight?
We did it last August - Your tables are allocated prior to your arrival and most are situated well under the canopy, so guests will stand along the wall to get a good view meaning that you cannot really eat and watch as your view is obscured. There were around 20 tables (I think) of guests. If you get to the wall then you'll get a good viewHow many people are usually there? Will my children be able to see, or is it going to be just liking standing anywhere else?
It is one of the best ways to watch Wishes. No pushing or shoving and no former NBA stars standing in front of you 2 minutes before the show starts.
Honestly, you have to determine how much money it will cost you for your group and then decide how much your time is worth. Assume you may scarf down 15 dollars worth of desserts per person now take the rest of the cost and that is what you are paying to not have to stake out a good spot and stay with it for an hour to insure you get a good view. That's really all you are paying for. You don't get to sit down and watch you are going to still be standing just like if you were out with the huddled masses. Is it worth the price? Desserts on all the special ticket parties have really gone down, and not just at MK but other Disney parks as well. It seems they have decided that the bottom line is going to be saved by cutting a few dollars from the cost of an already very profitable product. We noticed that in the past you could get mickey ice cream bars at the EPCOT Sparkling dessert party which kind of helped rationalize the expense for people going that had kids who couldn't drink because they charged adult prices for those under 21 but above 10... Well they stopped that option and replaced it with scoop your own vanilla ice cream... Not sure that saved them more than maybe 50 cents a guest at most but they seem to think that the small savings made sense for them.We did the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party twice during our recent trip (12 & 15 September 2016). Did it twice this time just to make sure that we got to see Tinker Bell fly since we did the party once back in 2010 and she did not fly then due to weather. Got to see Tinker Bell twice this time.
You no longer have assigned tables and they just give you the best table available upon arrival. I requested a different table and got the one I asked for. You can sit and see the fireworks from most any table...but I preferred being along the railing,
They no longer have the wonderful Crème Brule and it seems like the desserts overall were not as good as what they had back in 2010. I was not impressed by the current selection. It was wonderful to have a seat for the fireworks but now that we have done it 3 times, I doubt we will do it again. It is worth doing once but 3 times is enough for us.
