"Wishes" and New Property-Wide Celebration

In the words of Maxwell Smart(most, if not all, of you are too young to remember him and what show he was in...:( ),.....missed it by that much....My family and friends are going in September. There are 13 of us going...bummer. We'll just have to go again next year.

Not sure how I feel about that. I guess MK was in need of a new Fireworks display.

I wrote them an email about the absence of Spectomagic and Fantasy in the Sky- and they just wrote back saying that the schedules for the parades and fireworks haven't been entered yet, and to check back later in the month for them. But I'd imagine that the new show is definately a factor as to why they aren't posted yet.

Wow, it looks like Disney would do a celebration for anything. Doesn't look like it will affect me too much, but the new fireworks show should be good. If nothing else, it will give me even more reasons to be at WDW "and loving it". Now, if you'll excuse me, my shoe is ringing and I think it's 99.

Believe, the fireworks show at DL, is great. Not necessarily the best fireworks display, but the best at theming music and fireworks. It gives me chills everytime I see it. So I am hoping that "Wishes" will have that same type of effect on me.

.......Would you believe..........:D

LOL, At Disney its a celebration but at another company it would be a marketing campaign. The new fireworls display is the hook that gets your attention. Just like new and improved works as a hook for any other consumber product.

If they spent half the amount on cast satisfication as they are going to on banners and artwork and promotion maybe we could call that a celebration. How bout "Finally We Have Happy Workers Again Celebration."

Happiness is a personal thing. You can't depend on your employer or anyone else to provide it. You have to find the things in life that make you feel good.

:) Glad to hear MK is finally getting an updated fireworks show-- The current one is good but pales compared to ROE and Fantasmic.

 What if you do not have a family of 8 or more?? No specials for us--- :( :lookaroun

Gotta remember too... the Halloween party is on nights that there would normally be a Spectromagic

I think that if a big neon sign lured you in like flies only for them to take your money at the door and heard you into cattle pens- then THAT would be marketing.
However, why do we all love Disney?? Because they're obviously doing something right to make us happy and set them apart from the other places!

Any Disney lover out there- I don't care what the "purpose" of the celebration is, but you've gotta admit that you just love the huge, bright, colorful signs, no matter how corny they may really be. But it is that larger-than-life theming and decoration that makes WDW so special and exciting- seeing new things and new decorations on each trip.
You can call the "celebration" an excuse or whatever, but one thing that I can truly appreciate about "Magical Gatherings" is that it is not focusing on Disney, Mickey's birthday or a Theme Park- it is for the guests. And if there's a theme based on customer celebration and satisfaction, then I am all for it.

As for "Wishes", I can't wait to see it. Disney has always blown me away with their fireworks shows. Illuminations can bring a tear to my eye. I look forward to seeing Fantasmic (been there since it's existed, but I've never seen it.) And "Wishes" sounds like a spectacular show that will be sure to add some zest to the MK at night.

My next trip surely won't include 8 or more, but the four of us should be able to appreciate the celebration of the "good ole' days" when we used to travel down as a group of ten or more. To all who have the opportunity to travel as a large group- enjoy!

Gotta say I can't share your opinion on fireworks, but everyone's different. As for Tink, I don't think she'll be going anywhere.

btw, does anyone know if SpectroMagic will run in the new celebration or a new form? Also whether or not it will run each night ?

Sorry, but this just sounds like an excuse that the execs came up with for people to bring everyone they know with them to Disney World. Disney doesn't really care about your family, they just want more money from admissions and hotel packages. You know it's true.
Stop nagging...

One question.

Weiss said that all the things for the groups will continue after the 15 months are over. Then what's the point of going during the 15 months, if everything will be available after it?
