Wishes - Alternate Jiminy Cricket Dialogue

This is a question I've had literally for years, but never bothered asking until now.

I've heard two different versions of the JC dialogue in the show. The one I've always experienced in the park is the album version, but I've also heard another version where Jiminy's lines while very similar, are slightly different either in the way he speaks the dialogue or the words themselves are different. One, and probably the most obvious example is on the album version and the park version, his final line is "(chuckle), see what a little wishing can do?" But in the alternate version his line is "(chuckle), what they can't do these days." What's the story with the different version, and is it available?

Did you hear it actually in the park ? If so roughly when?

In the Parks
No
I have the "What they can't do these days" version on my phone and every time I listen to it it throws me off. I personally don't recall ever hearing it that way in the parks.

It shouldn't have been heard in the park by guests. I'm waiting if Father Robinson heard an MP3 or heard it "live".

Thank you.

It was a work in progress version. Not quite a demo but not the park version.

It should not be heard during the actual show.

There is a difference even when he sings "When you wish upon a Star"

Instead of worrying after the Evil Queen Laugh He talks about Faith Stepping in and sees you through.

Check at 6:05 on both videos to hear the difference...
2016 version..

Soundtrack Version...

There's quite a few subtle differences. This often happens when show audio is fine tuned.

WoC, WoCC, FoF and Forever most recently had several final versions that had small differences in what premiered.

The officially released RoE mix is actually a late demo and not quite the version played each night.

If there are differences, they must be very subtle. I have the recorded version, which I've listened to countless times, and I've seen the live show many many times. And if there are differences, I don't hear 'em.

The two which stick out are lack of the drum roll on the cd at the start of We Go On, and the "1000 points of light" finale is shorter on cd.

Plus of course the nightly version has effects playing through various channels mixed in with the music.

I'm with you on the effects. And I remember when they put that tympani roll in - because people thought the show was over and started leaving. The drums are a quick way to catch their attention back again.

But I think you might be in error on the 1000 Points of Light point. I think the show runs exactly the same length as the recorded version.

As always, I could be wrong . . . . .

The drum roll was always in the show from its premiere.

There's an extra.... trumpet repeat.... for want of a better word. That's comparing the Millenium Celebration CD to the last in-park PA I have from the 30th anniversary.

Also there are 8 extra drum beats, 4 each at a time, on the CD just at the part when the famous faces appear on the globe.

That's right, the CD version is one bar short of the park version.

I'm reasonably sure that you're wrong here. I can clearly remember the first time I heard the tympani roll and being somewhat surprised by it, as it was something new. As to the other, is it possible that there is more than one version out on CD? I'm a musician, and this is one of my favorite pieces of music. A measure long or a measure left out would grab my attention like a slap in the face. And that hasn't happened. I'm pretty sure the version I have on CD is almost identical to the one in the parks, with the exception of the afore mentioned tympani roll.

I dug out the oldest video I have from November 1999 and it was there.

Any idea what other CDs were issued aside from the Millenium edition?

I've found the anomalies whilst video editing and matching second by second live audio to the cd version. Confused me when I first heard them!
