I was looking at the map of all of Disney World and noticed that Wilderness Lodge is so close to the Contemporary that it would be awesome if the WL we're added to the monorail line. I know it would cost a lot of money, even though they'd only have to add a little curve Togo to the WL. I was just wishing out loud, lol.

I love WL the way it is.

Take this challenge:

Take the monorail to MK from Contemporary. Factor in the average wait for the monorail to arrive.

Take the bus (not the boat) to MK from Wilderness Losge. Factor in average wait time there as well.

I'd bet anything that the bus from WL gets you there quicker. I've done both, and the direct bus to MK is very fast (and never crowded).

I still take the boat too. It's beautiful and relaxing. Just not when I'm in a hurry.

Experience may vary, but I swear the boat comes more frequently and gets me to the MK faster than a Monorail would from, say, the Poly. The monorail seems to stop 10 times just making half a loop. Maybe all the current updates will help, but the boat rarely has a hiccup from the WL.

NOOOOO I love that I can take the boat to the wilderness lodge and feels miles away from everything. The monorail would open cheapen the experience

Doesn't the Grand Californian have a Monorail going right through it? And the Grand Californian is similarly themed to the WL.

Don't believe it does.

Not my picture...

The monorail does enter through the Grand Californian, and though the colors are the same, and I'm sure some architect would know better than I, but the design is not the same. The Grand Californian is more Frank Lloyd Wright or Arts and Crafts style than the great national parks lodge style of the WL. Not saying it's within the theme that the monorail enters the GC, but it's closer than it would be to the theme of entering the WL.
