20k leagues was great!! Considering Walt himself created that ride imagine seeing it in the 50's. To us it might not seem real, but it was SO ahead of it's time.

i dont disagree with you!! i agree that it had no place in fantasyland.. but thats JUST MY OPINION.

I miss Mr.Toad too!!

Thank goodness he's still in DL...I was there in 2000 and had to ride it three times in order to get my fill!

If you remember the story line from "The Adventures of Icabod and Mr. Toad" - J. Thadeus Toad (due to his mania) traded Toad Hall for a stolen motor car. When they realized it was stolen, Mole, Rat, Toad and McBadger snuck into Toad Hall and stole the deed away from Mr. Winky. Then Toad reclaimed his ancestrial home - Toad Hall.

So Pooh taking over Toad Hall fits in well with the story line. The question is - what did Owl give Toad in exchange for Toad Hall??? I think Disney may be hinting at a return of Toad by including the Toad/Owl photo in the Pooh ride.

Are we looking at a potential Toad sequel????

Yes, but after all those years it needed some technological update to attract hard-to-impress people, specially in the 90's.
Closing it without a replacement is even worse, it's illogical, taking in account the ride works at Tokyo and there are no legal restrictions or any of the usual problems...
