Has anyone noticed that in the Winnie the Pooh ride there is a sort of tribute to Mr Toad? In the scene where Owl's house has been blown down there are several paintings on the walls. One of them is a picture of Owl and Mr. Toad. Kind of cool.

I am still mad that they got rid of the Mr. Toads Wild Ride. The Pooh ride is good but I will never love it only because it took the place of Mr.Toad. I think it is good that they put the picture of Mr.Toad in the Pooh ride.

I agree with the fact that the winnie the pooh ride is a great ride and a great addition to the magic kingdom, but in no way should mr toad's been removed. It was a classic ride that should have always been at magic kingdom.

I know the majority of people disagree with me, but I really disliked Mr Toads Wild Ride and thought it had no place in Fantasy Land what so ever. To me, the Pooh ride is much better even though I agree he does seem to be taking over the world:animwink:

I guess I'm probably in the minority. I'm all for keeping the classics, but the new attractions are what get my blood pumping! I don't have a huge problem with the removal of older "classic" rides from one park, as long as they don't remove them from all the parks. Pooh is a huge selling point for parents with small children and with only one park having Toad (and Country Bears) the parks become a little more unique, though with a Country Bears movie coming out soon, I did find it's removeral from DL oddly timed.

But I'm not looking for a fight here -- I know many people were greatly attached to Mr. Toad's. I'm just not one of them.

Heading for the great escape.
Its only my tuppence worth BUT, Pooh is a great ride nicely themed and well put together, it is more relevant to todays kids and is a damn site more marketable than, old has been Wind up yer Khyber Characters. If it was up to me that damn elephant merrigo round would get the heave ho too!!!!

Only kidding about Dumbo :animwink:
Next hatchet job Snow White

There's also a picture of Mole leaving with a suitcase (if I remember right) as Pooh waves goodbye. It's in the same room as the above picture, on the opposite side of the "Hunny Pot"

Go to the nearest 6 year-old.
Ask him/her to name three characters from The Wind In The Willows.
Now ask him/her to name three characters from Winnie The Pooh
Now ask him/her if he/she would like a Mole plush or a Tigger plush.
'nuff said...

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was definately a classic..... i havent ridden pooh yet, but im going to Disney this summer so I'll be able to get my head caught up. sure, Disney has closed some rides, but they have continued to make rides we could've never thought of.

I don't mind Winnie The Pooh having a ride in Fantasyland. In fact it was pretty obvious sooner or later with all the success the bear was experiencing, a ride wasn't so far away. But replacing it for Toad's. No way.
Toad was , along with Peter Pan, one the adult-rides in Fantasyland. It was always thrilling to ride Toad's not only because the movements, but because the decoration, the effects, the meetings with another car and the fact that is so cool to almost crash with everything in a house to discover a secret passage. Toad needs to come back.

To tell you all the truth , Winnie the Pooh ride was to be located in Mickey's Toontown Fair.By taking down the tent and giving him his own space and a smaller toontown shop.

I miss Toad ,that was one attraction that gave me choices of an adventure ,like the Indy ride.I can't wait to ride it at Disneyland for the first time April 5,2002.

As for Critter Country at Disneyland, I'm afraid there going to rename it the 100 Acre Woods area.I also hope they add the bears to Splash Mountain like the critters from American Sings, instead there off to Hong Kong Disneyland(probly as a chucky cheese ,like it was proposed in California).

:sohappy:

I agree, Luau Cove. Mr. Toad was always one of my Must-See attractions, even as an adult.

Oh well, no point in dwelling on past heartaches, right?

yea, my family has always been a toad-peter pan rider in fantasyland. no one, from what I know of, really liked 20,000 leagues under the sea.
