Wine, beer, snacks, sundries in WDW?

Does anyone know where you can buy wine, beer, snacks, and sundries in WDW? If you don't have a car, and want to use only Disney transportation, where can you get this stuff?

I know that this sort of thing is available in the Concourse Spirits and Sundries shop in the Contemporary Resort (at least it was years ago). Do any other resorts (or other locations like DTD, for example) have a place where you can buy this sort of thing? (Sort of like an on-property convenience store)

can you take your beer down to the pool area???

Since at the Deluxe and Moderate resorts there are bars and snack stands near the pools, I don't see why you couldn't. I believe there is a rule about glass containers in the pool areas but a can or one of those plastic bottles of beer should be ok. I've not brought my own but have enjoyed a frozen adult beverage at the pool on more than one occasion.

If I recall correctly there is one right by the intersection of Rte 192 and Rte 535.
The closest publix is just under 2 miles from Pop Century. Take Osceola Parkway eastbound. Turn right at the Gaylord Palms and Publix is right there, corner of 192 and South International. Wouldn't walk it but it's not far for a cab.

I've read other places that the delivery service isnt too expensive. Im not sure of the name...garden grocer maybe? You may want to check in to this...it could be cheaper to do this than pay out the "wazoo" for your supplies... and you dont have to go get it.:)

I don't know, but you seem to have your priorities in order (wine and beer are listed first). Can I hang with you guys on your next trip?

For those of us who might be renting and a car and want to stop for supplies where is a good place, not far off the beaten path, between the airport and WDW? I dont want to have to drive for a couple of miles to find a Walmart but just an easy grocery. Maybe the one that was mentioned above. Where is that specifically?

If you take the south exit from the airport to 417 there is a Super Target a couple of exits down at Route 17/92. It is very easy off and on. I believe there is an Albertsons at the same exit. The area is called Hunters Creek.

All of the deluxe resorts have these type of stores. The ones at the Beach Club, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge and Old Key West tend to have the best selection because of the Vacation Club factor. However, their prices are a bit high. A more reasonable ($$$) alternative would be the Hess Marts near Downtown Disney or Boardwalk. The one near the BW is only a couple minutes walk from the BW bus stop. Because these are not run by Disney they are free to set their own price. I didn't find their prices to be any worse than a C Store back home.

For anyone who is military or DOD with BX privs., Shades of Green has an AAFES store on site with alcohol sales that are a lot cheaper than the regular resorts. And like with all AAFES stores, no sales tax. They also have souviners and snacks as well. Just take a Disney bus to Tickets and Transportation and then the SOG bus to the resort.

I tihnk the site you are tihnking of is www.gardengrocer.com. They deliver inside WDW. Delivery is free for orders OVER $200 (that's alot of food), and $10 for amount under that. They have a wide selection of items, and they even have a section called "park essentials" which I thought was nice!

WOW that would be a ton of food, you'd have to be in the room or hauling food with you all the time to consume that amount.

9 of us are going in Sept, might not take long to add up to $200.00. We've always taken snacks and bottled water with us on the plane (diet Mt Dew also, try finding that at WDW :zipit: ) Definitly something to look into.

If you're on the dining plan, you really don't need much extra food. Buy the refillable mugs, they are well worth it.

So true, with 9 people, you should have no problem reaching $200!!
