Winamp Probably Dead

With the AOL reshake, Nullsoft as a company is almost dead. Just three staff remain.

This effectively puts an end to Winamp development.

Total shame, Winamp is one of the (if not the) best windows media players out there.

Not too long ago, however, I think they found a skin for winamp that caused a virus, but indeed it is a shame since it was so great. I use windows media player 10 now, which I must admit, I like more than winamp, but it served me well.

I used to love Winamp. Then, I found out about iTunes. And I fell in love. So I downloaded Quintessential Player because it could be skinned to look like iTunes. Then, iTunes for Windows came out. Then, I got a Mac and had real iTunes.

Moral of the story: if Winamp dies, download iTunes (apple.com) or Quintessential Player (quinnware.com).

I've had iTunes. I'd rather stick with Winamp, specially now that it plays videos as well.

I use iTunes mainly now, but Winamp I still like a lot, I prefer it too windows media player because it's not as big and bulky, and doesn't use as much memory.

WinAmp for those who want just music, iTunes for everyone else. Only gripe about iTunes is that it's a memory hog!

And that is why I got rid of it. Couldn't play and listen to music at the same time, the game would get tons of lag.

That's a real shame. I've been using WinAmp ever since the beginning... it has to have been a good 6 or 7 years since I first installed it, I'd guess.
