You're on to me, DMC!
And thanks, Ace! I have relatives in Pensacola. My godfather used to own WZEP (does it still exist?) I haven’t talked to them in ages, but I recall going down there when I was a wee lad and visiting my cousins in an ice-cream shop. We drove through Pensacola on our first trip to Disney World!
I did the improv thing, too. I went through The Second City improv and sketch-comedy writing programs. Regrettably, I never got involved in an improv troupe because the other people in those programs were intimidated by my good looks, charisma and superior comedic skills. OK, the truth is that nobody liked me!

Give stand-up a shot if you’re interested, Ace. You only need a good five minutes to get started. Heck, you can probably come up with five good minutes of material on the differences between doing improv in Japan and Texas. Besides, at the better comedy clubs, the stage lights are so bright that you can’t see anybody in the audience.
Here’s a quote that inspired me to just go ahead and do it: “Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.” Good luck to you, Ace!
