im sitting here watching willy wonka and the chocolate factory with my kids for the 100th time.my question is the movie was made in like 71 or 72 right after wdw was built.is it me or does it look like the movie made the factory to resemble wdw-maybe its just me but the whole movie looks like its a small world or fantasy land

It's not the Oompa Loompas that scare me.. the whole movie does. I get an evil vibe from it, which scares the crap outta me. I get the same vibe from the Wizard of Oz and Willow.

Harper Goff is why.

You have a good eye! Harper Goff was the art director for Willy Wonka (he was on loan from Disney at the time). Harper was a creative genius. You won't find too many designs in Disney that he didn't have a part in creating. He's a legend. Walt had an eye for talent and he found that and more in Harper Goff.

'There's no earthly way of knowing, which direction we are going, there's no knowing where were rowing, or which way the river's flowing, is it raining? is it snowing? is a hurricane a blowing? , there's not a speck of light a showing, so the danger must be growing, are the fires of hell a glowing? is the grizzly reaper mowing? Yes, the danger must be growing, FOR THE ROWERS KEEP ON ROWING, AND THEY'RE CERTAINLY NOT SHOWING ANY SIGNS THAT THEY ARE SLOWINGGGGGGG!'

gotta love wonka!
