-Fastpass will be nonexistant, so if you bought Maxpass yearly you are hosed (not even sure if this is refundable)

Has this been confirmed anywhere? I know they cancelled all FP+ reservations for WDW but haven't seen anything personally about DLR.

plus 1 extra month

Again, has it been confirmed for DLR?

-Passes are extended by default and refunds can only be given by calling 1(714)781-4567 (users are reporting 90-120 minute wait times)

This varies. [source]

If you are an Annual Passholder who has paid in full:
All active Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders who have paid for their Passports in full will automatically have their Passport expiration date extended due to theme park closures to provide additional access opportunities at the end of the Passport term.

If you are an Annual Passholder on the Monthly Payment Plan:
On April 5, 2020, we automatically stopped and will waive monthly payments due while the theme parks are closed. We will also retroactively refund payments made between March 14 through April 4, 2020. Payments will resume on the Passholder’s regularly scheduled payment dates once the parks reopen. Please note, Passport expiration dates will not be extended and Passports will expire upon their originally scheduled expiration dates.

I got my Flex Pass at the end of November. This was my first AP so I did the upfront down payment and have the lower monthly payments. Based on the information @flutas copied above, if I don't actively extend my pass then it will just end in November and I'll have lost nothing since they have had my monthly payment on hold since the parks closed anyway...

However, if I renewed in November instead of extending it, my monthly payment will go up, so it seems that extending it would allow me to take advantage of the lower payment for my full 12-month term...

However, if my extension goes past the date that they could potentially raise prices, my 2nd year's pass will be at a higher price.

Any advice? The only reason I'm leaning more toward extending it is that I'm not even sure if I want to renew it. I believe I'll have gone enough times to at least break even (perhaps slightly better), but I'm not sure if I wanna keep going on multi-day trips 3+ times a year. The travel expenses add up (I'm in NorCal).

Thanks for the information. I updated the post with info you gave about monthly pass payment options.

As stated in the post, the information is based on WDWs opening as Disneyland has given almost zero information.

When (If?) Disney releases this information, I will keep this updated.
My guess is at DL, attractions with FP will become FP only for this very reason, it will make Maxpass even more valuable and Disney can raise the price higher on it.

FP Only with very limited return times I could see working.

Problem then becomes ride breakdowns and any-time replacement fastpasses.

Mine expired years ago and stopped going. I am 2 hrs drive one way. Prices on everything is just unreasonable for a while cast members looked down on AP's like we were trouble demanding Karen's which some are! The past year I been wanting to go again but now no way! Not because of fear of the virus the restrictions and full price cost and not getting the full experience.

We had decided we weren't going to extend our APs on the day it was reported they weren't going to open this month. So now we don't know again lol. We still have four months left so if they push it back until things get much better then we probably will renew if things are getting better at least and not worse like now. But we personally thought opening next month was not the right call given everything. Fortunately others realize that too now.

I agree its too soon! I was always carful at the resort even years ago. You have thousands of people from all over the world and at some times of the day/year crammed together like sardines! The extensive modifications to their operations to make it safe would be drastic to say the least! I do not think a outbreak would be good PR and there is no possibility of operating and making any profit. I say use this time to rehab and bring in make a wish kids! TV specials and lots more could be done while we wait!

It looks like things are going decent enough in Hong Kong and Shanghai (right now) so it may work out fine here once they do actually open. Tokyo has just opened today as well (which I was originally going to go in April) so that will be interesting to keep an eye on as well. The difference is those places have contained the virus on a massive level, we haven't. When you have so many cases walking around it's very easy to spread like wild fire and why it was a good idea to hold back. Again not forever but certainly not now when cases in the state are only getting higher. It would've been ridiculous to open any theme parks now. I don't understand why some actually thought it was a good idea when the cases were already going in the wrong direction.

But I think for many who has been complaining about it being too crowded, hate FP, etc this is something they always wanted in a way. But yes it's coming with tons of cut backs too. No matter what it will probably be a year minimum before these parks gets back to normal in the way we think of them.

Further updates/clarity on the WDW AP - well, clarity is prob the wrong word. Info on the WDW AP.

And more on the Premier AP - which has access to the DLR parks.

I was going to cancel, but now after holding off and seeing how they’re releasing more availability for APs, I’m holding on to it. Food and Wine this Saturday 🥃😜!

Oh, and we are planning on the prorate refund option coming through for the missed months. With the above, it does cause me a little pause as they might just decide to offer a either a cancel/total refund or extend it all option at DLR. Especially as this closure drags on a bit.

Mine expired 5/31. I called them 3 weeks ago to cancel it and get a prorated refund. They said "no problem!" I emailed them this morning to ask where my refund is. Haven't gotten a reply. Now this says September??

Are you DLR or WDW? If DLR I think the deal is they're not going to do any refunds or extensions until they actually open as it's a one-time sort of thing (or at least they hope so)

DLR. And the very nice woman on the phone assured me that there would be no problem crediting my card. So I waited... and waited...

Yeah, I'm sorry they were not more clear. They won't be issuing refunds till after they open, unless you were charged for a month through their payment plan when they shut down. I have heard of some folks getting that month back sooner. I'm waiting on the same, and my calculations, family included, is that I have tallied about $1300 in refunds so far while they are shut down.

I had hoped that since mine was fully paid for and is expired it would be more straightforward. March 14th to May 31st, 78 days. Doesn't matter/don't care when they reopen. They are holding my money hostage without having had provided the purchased service through that period.

Also, when I accessed my PhotoPass gallery I was only offered the option to purchase and not download. Not refunded but can't use the features. It is a Schrodinger's pass.

I usually get a canned "looking into it" response by now. Interesting.

This is what I find silly. The company has no problem releasing blogs/social media posts, yet won’t refund their customers. The level of service from Disney is abysmal.

I know technically the passes can be taken away and availability is subject to change, but other themeparks have managed things so much better than Disney when it comes to AP extensions/refunds.
I agree, even Shanghai did a better job, for those that are wondering, here is what the parks I know have done:
  • Shanghai Disneyland - Passes extended by the length of closure + The amount of time reservations will be required
    • This poses the question of if the U.S. parks intend to make reservations a permanent thing since they don't have that same stipulation.
  • Knott's Berry Farm - Extended until the end of 2021 with all entitlements (except Halloween Haunt) included, that is food, drinks, parking, whatever you have, this also applies for new pass purchases and upgrades as well. (This is now the same for ALL Cedar Fair Parks)
  • SeaWorld Parks - Extended by the length of the closure AND upgraded one level plus a bunch of other benefits. If you already had a Platinum pass, Shopping and Dining updated to 30% off, $50 to spend in the parks, Two Specialty Drinks, Four (instead of one) guest tickets, 50% off select animal experiences.
  • San Diego Zoo - Extended by the length of closure + 1 month and I think other benefits as well.
  • Dollywood - Extended Until June 2021
  • Silver Dollar City - Extended until at least June 2021, Reservations not required for passholders through Labor Day. 2 Bonus vouchers to bring a guest (reservation is required when using this)
  • Six Flags Parks - Upgrade one level in addition to extending by at least the number of months lost
  • Disney World - If you haven't already chosen a partial refund, passes will be valid through at least August 11, you can then get an additional 30 day extension or partial refund (dated back to July 11)
So honestly, it is sad when even Six Flags is doing a better job at this than Disney, there is an issue.
