Here now, and no reference yet to this popular song from Encanto. Obviously too soon since the movie release and the realization of the songs popularity. Any chance we'll be hearing this catchy tune in the near future, in a show, calvacade, something? Please, WDW, start talking about Bruno soon. It felt like we were hearing Let It Go within weeks after Frozens popularity took off.

That's a start. Hopefully in due time the song will be present in a nighttime show or parade.
Dare I say dance party? Not a fan of those myself, but if any song calls for one at the parks, it's Bruno.
Just so addictive.

There’s no comparison in the popularity scale of Frozen to Encanto and Bruno pales in comparison to Let it go. The kids couldn’t get enough of Frozen and the characters , thus Disneys fast build up of the attraction. You may hear it in a parade or at a party because Disneys going to continue promoting things in the parks but I can’t see the popularity craze that Frozen brought us.

Bruno is topping charts very similar to back in Frozen's day when Let It Go was all the rage. Whether it stays strong as long as LIG did is yet to be determined, but it is very much on par with it for now.

They say Encanto is supposed to turn into a franchise so who knows what will happen.

You may be speaking too soon. We Don't Talk About Bruno is the first Disney song to hit #1 on the Billboard charts since A Whole New World in 1993 and the first ever to hit #1 on the UK charts. The soundtrack has now spent 4 weeks at #1 and every song from the soundtrack is currently in the Billboard Hot 100, including five in the Top 40.

So, whether you are personally noticing it or not, at least the music from the film has become a phenomenon on which you would imagine Disney wants to capitalise.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when the original Lion King started breaking big with songs and box office, it was summertime, and by that autumn there was already a stage show at MK where Philar is now, and a parade at DL.

Encanto is a big hit and Bruno is a popular song. Take note, Bob.

I'm not saying this to discount the popularity -- being #1 on the Billboard charts is being #1 on the Billboard charts -- and it obviously means it's the most popular song right now compared to anything else Billboard tracks.

With that said, I don't think the Billboard charts are anywhere near as meaningful/accurate as they were 25-30 years ago (and earlier). They're constantly tweaking the formula to figure out how to count streams, and they can only capture data from so many sources.

I think it still works to track current popularity (at least to an extent) but I think it's harder to draw meaningful comparisons to something like A Whole New World. As an aside, I also think it's kind of funny that A Whole New World was the last Disney song to reach that milestone. I don't think it's generally considered one of Disney's absolute best/most classic songs. It's certainly a good/popular one, but I think there are several other songs from that same era that are more memorable today.

Legend of the Lion King opened a week before the movie premiere.

Disney doesn’t work like that anymore.

This isn't the Eisner Era where we would have all of this to celebrate the release of a Film....And if someone brought this up to Chapek he'd think it would be dumb idea..

I agree it's more difficult to measure popularity now that less and less people buy things and they have developed methods for calculating the worth of a stream, etc. I think there's a similar issue arising with films now that we have to factor streaming into the equation. For example, no-one seems to think of Luca as a huge hit, but it was the most-streamed film of 2021 by a reasonable margin. So, was it actually a huge hit? With Encanto we'll also never really have a straightforward metric like box office takings by which to judge its success against other films as it moved so quickly to streaming and then seemed to take off.

As for We Don't Talk About Bruno, one point in its favour for being around a while is that it's success has been international. When I was in Mexico in January it was making waves and, as I mentioned, topped the UK charts and has made the top 5 in Australia and I'm sure elsewhere. So, it's not just a quirk of the Billboard calculation method, the song has seemed to hit a nerve and could. Probably a lot more than that song from Twisted that they keeping putting in everything!

Maybe you are right. I was just going by how little I'm hearing it played and an even stronger indication I go by is by the kids around me. When Frozen started up everywhere I went I heard kids singing that song. Friends of mine who had kids said they were driving them crazy by wanting the song played over and over in the car and in the home and the kids were singing it non stop. I havent heard anything similar to how they are treating Bruno. But anyway to the OP... yes, Disney will take advantage of its popularity and have it appearing in the parks in some form. Keep your ears open.

If Cheapek can make a buck off of anything (and of course this means profit, for all you non-ferengi muggles), "make it so". It may be interesting to see how the first non-movie/non-action-figure attempt by WDW is put forth.

Opinion does not equal fact, at least on the first. The second doesn't really reflect anything except a flash in the pan, which has happened repeatedly since the advent of the Billboard Top 100.

Just because a Disney movie "is a big hit" doesn't mean it requires immediate and substantial additions to the theme parks. Disney doesn't work that way anymore, as has been mentioned.

It's like Zootopia all over again. "AHHHH!!! It's a HUGE HIT!!! It DESERVES to be in the parks!!!!!!1!!" 🤦‍♂️
