Will UOR be better than WDW?

I was in DL a few months ago and i think that ruined WDW even more for me :( I just cannot get my love for the place back. It feels like theyre making all the wrong moves.

I will say I was really impressed with Disneyland. I went for the first time in 2014 and again last year. It's just got a different feel. It doesn't diminish my love for WDW but I definitely want to go back. Especially with the return of the Paint the Night parade!

I went to TDR and it was awesome. I went to DL and it was awesome. I go to WDW because it's amazing. There are things I like about each resort that draw me back. Maybe it's time to look at WDW a different way. Do different attractions. Get there at rope drop and instead of 7DMT, do the omnibus then do CBJ. Etc.

I just don't think wdw is even worth my money anymore. At least until the new attractions are open. I'm excited for more, but only because I know the competition is the only thing keeping the parks fresh.

That's a fair point. However WDW and Disney theme parks in general offer some of the best value for entertainment.

Bring it.

I never was too much of a UNI fan, not my thing. Then last month I had two terrific days there, plus an impromptu third in the rather good VB.

Meanwhile at WDW I found Energy, GMR and Shark Reef closed, leaving three greatly diminished parks and I'm not excited about their eventual replacements. UNI is right to eye my vacation dollars.

And as long as they're both playing off of each other we are in a good place. I will not forget for one second, all this progress is because universal picked up the ball that Disney dropped. Everything since wwohp has been a reaction.

I have felt for some time that the momentum is with universal and Disney had become complacent and a step behind. Trying to do catch up now is never a good position to be in. It's not just my feeling, I hear it from my friends who visit and go to both parks.

Universal Creative has DisneySea in their crosshairs for this tiny little side project.

And yes, at this point, out of shear bullheadedness, Universal has become a major annoyance to "The Mouse".

And I am under the impression that Universal has been securing major IP for the resort. Bond and Star Trek have both been recently rumored. And the one IP rumor to rule them all is back.

I hope they continue to build bigger and better things. Keeps the pressure on WDW. It’s great for everyone.

If any or all of those are what we have to look forward to, them my move to Florida in a few years will be even more fun.

If the rumored attractions come to USF it will easily be the best park in Orlando. Super Nintendo World with possibility of Pokémon, secret life of pets AA filled dark ride, Ministry of Magic replacing FF, and whatever replaces T2.

DL gets the little things so right and does it better than WDW. I love both parks and given the choice would go to WDW over DL but the attention to detail in things as small as keeping paint work looking nice at DL is amazing. DL also fully utilizes every inch of the park. Every square inch feels magical whereas in WDW there are many spots which make me feel like I am at a large mall. As a kid I recall seeing a "dateline disney" WDW ad that said they would touch up the paint every single night, probably hyperbole but at DL I'd believe it was true , not so much WDW. Attention to detail and cohesiveness has been the big differentiator for WDW and I hope they keep that edge as it is what I most like. Otherwise I am not a big amusement park fan

Im sure its just the nostalgia factor but I honestly would go back to DL in a heartbeat. Even if i got into WDW again for free, I would definitely reconsider. It really lost my love, and there was some hardcore love for that place. I really wanted to be there every day at one point and thought that moving to orlando sounded amazing. Well i still want to move to FL but definitely not within a short drive. The only pass i would want is the EPCOT after 4 and only for dinner and the festivals..

I can't understand why one park differs so much from the other? You are 100% correct when you say they get the little thing right. In the business I'm in so much effort is put into making our product look seamless to the end user. We put procedures in place that no matter what site our product comes from you can not tell the difference. I know there was a time that WDW maintained the parks constantly. If I saw stained or chipped paint it stood out because it was so rare. I remember seeing painters during the day doing touch ups. I think the fact that the crowds keep coming hurts them. I think they feel they can get away with it because the crowds keep filling the place. I think they will get the wake up call from universal.

I broke down on Monday and went to universal for the first time in about 4 years. I have to say I was impressed, the vibe there was great. There was an energy there, it appeared that everywhere you looked it seemed like there was something to see and do. The new hotels, rides and people seemed excited. Now it could be the newness of it being my first visit in a long time. One thing really jumped out at me, wherever you walked you could here the screams of the riders, it reminded me of an old time amusement park.

Universal spending this money and building the harry potter stuff, is the best thing that ever happened to Disney. Ok I'm exaggerating. But as that park becomes more popular hopefully the crowds will get less for Disney world as it spaces people out more. That would be a win for everyone, even if Disney loses some money the customer satisfaction of less crowding might help in the long run. But the bigger picture is look at all of the projects Disney is doing now. They are doing something in every park, they are adding new construction and fixing some things that needed to be fixed. Just keeping up with the projects being built you have to have a timeline, where usually its one thing every 5 years in any of the parks. This is a golden age where all 4 parks will look different by 2022!!!
You can thank Universal...
Because it scared the mouse.
