I agree. Why not build Fire Mountain next to Splash Mountain and Pirates? I have a lot of reasoning for that:
1. The West side of Magic Kingdom hasn't had a significant addition since Splash Mountain in 1992.
2. Coupled with reason no.1, there's too many people on the East side of Magic Kingdom. They need to draw them away.
3. They have room there. Yes they would need to rework backstage and the entrance of the parade but they do have the space for it.
4. If built, there would be three mountains in a line next to each other. It would be the Mountain Chain of Magic Kingdom
5. Each of the 4 mountains would focus on an element. Earth, Air, Fire, Water. (BTM, Space, Fire, Splash)
6. Magic Kingdom in Orlando needs another good E ticket attraction that Disneyland California doesn't have.

There’s no air in space...
