will narnia save WDW while universal is getting HP?

Regardless of what people say Universal is a competitor of Disney just like Jones Soda is a competitor of Pepsi and Coca-Cola.

Now I know of people who visit Orlando from out of town and only had a few days I chose Universal over Disney ::gasp::. It happens however most tourist will visit both parks in their Orlando vacation.

Just to clarify, I do not disagree with what others say though about Disney being a complete resort, etc. There is no denying in my eyes though that in a way Universal is a competitor, most it being from location.

I think to presume that either of those rides is an attendance changer is not correct. I am not a fan of either movie so it would not matter to me. I love Disney no matter what and know that there are so many loyal Disney visitors out there that will come to WDW with or without Narnia additions. Sure a new addition will be something to try even if you do not like the movie, but I do not feel it will be a significant impact. Disney seems to be doing very well and steady over the years. It does not seem to need saving.

You can see everything Universal has to offer in 2 days... Disney takes 2 weeks. That's why people will always come back to Disney.

Don't get me wrong I love Universal though. We had season passes last year.

I've never read a Harry Potter book, never seen a Harry Potter movie, and I could die happy if I never did either of those things. However, I will definitely check out the wizarding world of HP at IOA once it opens, because I love new things at theme parks and I'm sure the new E-ticket ride will be great. Universal definitely needs this, and they are the ones who need saving, not Disney. Has anyone else noticed that IOA has remained virtually un-changed since it opened nearly a decade ago? I can't think of a single new ride that has opened there since the park opened. In fact, Universal Studios park has had to open several new attractions recently just so that they can give guests a reason to visit BOTH parks, rather than just IOA. In essence, they are competing with themselves, not with WDW.

No matter what Universal does, they can never truly compete with Disney. They simply don't have the land, the money, or the creativity (in my opinion). I'm not a huge Narnia fan, but if Disney made an E-ticket Narnia ride, I can see how that could potentially be very cool. However, I can't imagine that the Narnia franchise will ever come close to the market power of Harry Potter. People go crazy for this HP stuff, and I will never understand why. As cool as the Harry Potter Island might be once it opens, it's not going to catapult Universal past Disney.

Ummmm, hummmmm....

"Paging Mr. Vegas...Mr. Las Vegas"

Anyway, dispensing with the subjectivity, Narnia probably would not have the same impact on Disney that HP will have on US. But believe me, contrary to what many others here are thinking, Disney will counter with something..they have to because that is how they got to be, and remain, number 1.

Nothing to Fear

I doubt there will be any change at all. Disney rules Orlando. I am sure that Universal will have an increase in visitors for a while but not enough to threaten Disney.:king:

I think we will see a change and Disney already knows what it will be, and thats why they stoped going after Potter. Yes and in no way will this threaten Disney, and I think they know that as well.

I second the 2 days at Universal/IOA. We bought a 2 day ticket with a 3rd day free. There was no need to go that 3rd day. We saw everything in 2 days.

Not to bash Universal or turn this into a RAG on universal/ioa thread, but I was not impressed at all with the stage shows. Specifically, the beatlejuice, animal planet show, Sinbab & Fear Factor. You would think they would be cutting edge and top notch coming from a Movie/TV studio.
