Will I make it to Event on Time from the Airport?

I'm planning to attend the Italian Regional Food & Wine Pairing Luncheon which is at Noon Monday.

My flight arrives at MCO 9:45AM Monday. I'm staying at Disney Port Orleans Riverside.

My understanding is that Disney's Magical Express will deliver my luggage to my Hotel room without me doing anything?

I don't think the shuttle bus will take me directly from Airport to EPCOT so I have to go to Port Orleans from the Airport and then from the resort to EPCOT? Will I make it on time?

THANKS

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Heaven forbid your flight is not right on time, and even if it is that's cutting it a bit close especially if you are depending on Magical Express which can add to your time itself. I wouldn't chance it and they won't wait on you to start either as we did that last year/well something similar the Truffle Lunch w/wine pairings in Italy and were about 15 min late. It was quite embarrassing because it's an intimate setting where everyone is at one big long table. Lol. Not to mention we missed 15 min of such an expensive and awesome event we cannot get back. So me I would not chance it especially with how much those events cost. :)

It's never taken me two hours plane-to-park using DME. You will be taken to your resort, but you don't have to check in immediately. If it's getting tight, go straight from the DME bus to the Disney bus depot a few yards away.

That said, there are so many things that could potentially delay you, flight delays, longer than normal wait for DME, traffic between MCO and WDW, etc... If the event is expensive, it may be safer to book at a different time or choose a different experience to try.

How's that for a fence-straddling response! :hilarious:

You're probably right there are so many variables that I can't foresee that may make me late.

I think you could probably make it with about a minute and a half to spare, but it might be safer to reschedule, if for no other reason than to get rid of the anxiety of making it or not. We tend to be in relax mode at WDW and hate tight time schedules.

Odds are you won't even be at the DME loading area until 10:15-10:30 (unless you are the first row of the plane, first gate in the terminal, and are able to walk right onto a departing train) Figure another 45-60 minutes to get to POR, and then another 15-25 mins to get to Epcot. Then add on another 10 mins to get into the park through security and 10 minutes to walk to the festival center (longer if it is elsewhere) Those would be average times, and you will most likely be late. In a perfect world, first person off the plane, walk right onto train, then walk right on DME bus that leaves after you board, POR being first DME stop, and Epcot bus pulling up right after you get there, you would make it. But if any of those don't happen, you will very probably be late. A cab or car service direct to Epcot would be faster, but you would then need to figure out your luggage (either detour to resort for bell services or have security go through it and then store it in locker in park).

Op,
I think you are cutting it close - too close. I bank an hour from the airport to the resort when using the Magical express. So even if you get to the boarding area for the Magical Express at 10:00am (which I think is overly optimistic), Don't forget the bus typically doesn't leave immediately when you arrive. I've sat on the bus at least 20 minutes before. What happens if the bus isn't there for your boarding - add another 20 minutes. You're looking at an hour and 40 minutes potentially and that's without waiting for the internal bus transportation to get you to the park.
Sorry to have been a Debbie downer but I know for me my anxiety would be through the roof for me worrying if I would make it in time. Lol :)
That's me as well. I'd be a nervous wreck.
