Maybe it is because I grew up in the 1980s and 1990s long before a "Karen" even existed and when you could hear jokes from Roseanne or Al Bundy on TV, but what exactly is supposed to be "controversial" (not my word, the OP's word) about Frontierland? Even trying to put myself in the mind of a 20 year old University student doesn't help, I just can't see what is offensive or could be offensive.
