Will anyone miss the turnstiles?

Is Disneyland going turnstile-free too? Because at least WDW has the huge expanse of land as a buffer to dissuade any potential gate-crashes...

won't miss 'em (except for nostalgia sake) but I wish they had designed the new entry so that it does not cause a continued bottleneck. Making the second (further one) scanner narrower than the first one you come to just creates strollers and people bumping you as they try to get past and yet another bottleneck.

I was in WDW over the weekend for the races, and I thought the new system was kind of fun, but really removed the sense of arrival that you get when you pass through a traditional turnstile. Instead, you wait in a blob and scramble to find the RFID station that opens up first, without feeling like you're cutting in front of somebody. I'll get used to it, but it definitely feels awkward at first

I always wear a watch on my left arm (Hey Disney, please make a watch add-on for MagicBands! You'd make a killing!), so I wore the MagicBand on my right. It was a little annoying to wait for the band to scan, and then move my arm to scan my finger, since they only let you use your right hand. It would be nice if they had lefty options, or the system was smart enough to use multiple fingers for each guest

DL and DCA both have lovely iron gates across the existing turnstiles that they keep closed when those stations aren't in use. I see no reason that they would remove them in the future when they get the MM+ system. They certainly seem like they would be more effective than the dinky little ropes they use in WDW

I have a question sort of related to this. I know they track how many people enter the park by the band but how do they track how many people leave the park in order to truly know how many people are really in the park?

When I see a turnstyle, I try to go through it without turning it, just for fun. You just grab it, hold it still, and slide your body through. :) Love the rush it gives me, knowing that it is messing something up somewhere, lols;)

I will not miss them at all. The magnetic strip reader and fingerprint scanner seemed to be to complex for most of the guests to use.

I won't miss them, I never gave them much thought. I agree with what someone else posted about turnstiles in general going away, in Atlanta the mass transit got rid of them awhile ago, now your just touch your card to the pad and a gate opens.

I won't miss them. For whatever reason, my clumsiness, which is usually around a level 5, spikes to a level 10 when I'm dealing with turnstiles. I get caught in them, my bags get caught in them, or they stop half way while I'm walking through and essentially gut punch me. It's not just WDW turnstiles. It's all turnstiles. I say good riddance!

They don't care. The computer registers who goes in and if the place is empty at closing, that's how many were there. From my understanding, if you leave and then come back you are only counted once.

There's still some turnstiles scattered across the parks, but no, I do not miss the turnstiles at the front entrances.

Lines are just as long with that flashing Mickey ball-thing as they were with turnstiles. It seemed to me that part of this was due to MB's being unreliable and a large number of people had to have their details checks with a CM and their Ipad.

If they wanted to speed things up, here's a suggestion: Do something with that pointless bag search.
A whole lot of the bottle neck is caused by stupid people. I can not count the number of people In front of me who have acted like it is rocket science to tap the band or card and stick their finger in the scanner.
