Wilerness Lodge + Triathalon + Soarin' Updataroonie.

So I went to the Wilderness Lodge yesterday to visit my friend's aunt. I found this rather curious:

That is a low wall built up to the right of the main entrance into the lobby. Anyone know what they are doing here?

On another note:

My friend and I went to MK and Epcot using her aunt's tickets after our (failed) Hidden Mickey Hunt. Impromtu park visits are always fun. Even if you only have three hours to do so.

The stuff for the women's triathalon was set up along the Seven Seas Lagoon. Lots of bicycles. It took place earlier today (Saturday).

Over at Epcot, at around 7:15, Soarin's wait was 90 minutes. No fastpasses. We got in line, but after 10 minutes no one had moved AT ALL. I don't know if this is a regular thing or not, as it was my first time riding it. We were in the room with the four landscape pictures and trivia screens. We got out of line. Epcot still owes me that Soarin' ride.

So, yeah. I should be putting up a Regis and Kelly/Magic Kingdom update up here soon enough. Once my lazy friend puts our pictures on photobucket.

I ran into this issue at Soarin a few weeks ago. It took a little while to figure out that the mix between FP & SB they were loading was completely out of whack. On that day, they were loading 100% of FastPass line (completely emptied it), and just filling in the blanks with SB line. Once we got around the corner (blue ceiling area) we could see what was happening. There were ride cycles where only 5 people from the standby line made it through in that cycle. I've never seen an attraction operate with such a loopsided load ration between FP & SB.

This is exactly why I'm not a fan of Fastpass. I've seen this at several attractions when they're busy. Since Soarin's going to be busy for some time, I think we just have to get used to it.

The same thing happened to me the other night, when I got in line for Soarin' around 7:30. I got lucky though, since the standby line wasn't even out of the blue room. I only had to wait a little over half an hour.

They pull that crap on Test Track too!! Last year, my hubby and I waited 90min on the standby line. By the time we got to the front it was easy too see why the wait was so long! 25 people from fastpass, 10 from single rider, and 2 from the standby line!! Its a great system, as long as you have a fastpass in your hand, otherwise, it s-u-x!!!
