Has anyone stayed at the Wilderness Lodge? I have a few questions to those who have.

1. Is it good?
2. Is it kid friendly?
3. How is the food (for adults and kids)
4. How is transportion to and from parks.

Thanks:snore:

There are many thread about the WL, but since its my favorite I'll just say:

1: YES!
2: YES!
3:Good...
4:Not bad.

I'ts a beautiful hotel...it makes you feel as if ypu are out in the woods...smokey smell as you drive up, cricket sounds (piped in). Its like a huge log cabin. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a Lobby tour, hidden Mickey hunt and lots more to do. The big fireplace is always going ...its great to have a cup of coffee or tea and rock for awhile. We were just there in August and really enjoyed ourselves. Kids wander the lobby looking at the totem poles and run over the bridge and running stream constantly. I find it very relaxing. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a great place for breakfast. The all you can eat skillet is a must. Lunch and dinner focus on sandwiches and BBQ.

Artist Point is more upscale with interesting foods...not my taste, but I know people who love it. Our kids love the Roaring Forks snack bar for a quick meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner). They run daily specials and they are quite good. I would suggest the refillable mugs: fill up for free for you entire stay. Just bring in your cup and fill it at the beverage bar...no waiting on lines.

Take the launch from the dock to the MK (you share it with Fort Wilderness Campgrounds). The bus runs to the other parks...not too bad. We took the boat from the dock to the Contemporary and then switched to the monorail.

We like rooms 6022-6032 the best. Check out this link:

Hey DYLAN!

1. It's THE BEST! You'll love it from the moment you step into the lobby! Beautifully decorated in an "upscale mountain lodge" motif with a great waterfall and very scenic grounds to explore.

2. Kid friendly? You bet! There is a kids pool, a cool snack bar, lots of birds and ducks around, a pool slide carved into the mountain waterfall, a geyser that erupts every hour, and an arcade full of video games.

3. The food ROCKS! Artist Point is great for a nice upscale romantic dinner, while Whispering Canyon is one of the most fun places for a family to eat in all of WDW. It's loud, irreverant, and the kids will LOVE it! To make maters worse, the food there is all-you-can-eat AWESOME!

4. Transportation is the same bus system you would take from any other WDW Resort, with the added feature of having a BOAT option to travel back and forth to the Magic Kingdom every day! As an added feature, the boat also goes over to Fort Wilderness, home of the famous Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue!

Visit the Wilderness Lodge once, and you'll be hooked!

HAVE FUN!

My wife and I honeymooned there in November of last year. The only negative thing that I must say is that if you stay in a room that overlooks the main hall, dont plan on going to sleep before midnight. The hall acts as a megaphone and you can hear everything going on on the main floor and in the W. Canyon Resteraunt (and the staff in the restraunt is loud because they are in character all the time...its great).

If you stay on the concergie (spelling wrong I know) level, dont plan on eating much at resteraunts if you will be around the lodge at meal times. They serve almost a full course meal at meal times.

They have childrens activities and a great "sitter service" if you want time away from the kids. The pools are great and you have boat access to The Contemporary Resort, where you can grab the monorail, otherwise you have to catch the bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

The staff is great and helped us have a very memorable experience. The other bad thing is I was there ten days and only saw the geiser go off once. My fault though.

Lastly, you will be in awe when you first drive up. It is truly an awsome resort.

ENJOY
