Wilderness Lodge vs POL-R

I just like the theme at POR better. To me it's a Deluxe without the interior hallways and without close proximity to a park. I've never seen such beautiful grounds before and it's really nice just to wander the resort along the river. The food court is also (in my opinion) one of the best. That being said, it's not a deluxe but to me it's as close as you can get.

What is the reason for choosing POR over POFQ? Is it less expensive? Because I keep reading that POFW has better bus service, yet so many people in this thread obviously like POR.
We've never had any real problems with bus service at PORS. You just need to know where they pick up first and go early and never leave the park right after a parade or right at closing time. POFQ sometimes has to ride on PORS buses. PORS is larger, but a couple of reasons are that it has more things to do, and the buildings are only three stories. We loved the walk to the pool and food court from the Royal Rooms. The bus stops are no more than 2 minutes from any building. We were right by the bus stop last time. The food court is much better. The pools are nice. I, unlike the others, love being able to walk right out of my room to the beautiful courtyards. I don't like having to walk those long halls every time we leave for a park or whatever. Walking outside in the beautiful surroundings is much nicer to me than walls. The walk along the river to the main pool or the food court or the boat to DTD is a relaxing walk.

We didn't have any trouble (in Oct. 2012) with PORS bus service either. There were only two occasions (one caused by a bus break-down) where we waited more than 5-10 minutes for a bus, and since we were generally headed to the parks first thing in the morning, the bus wasn't being shared with POFQ. There was one evening (at the Magic Kingdom) when we couldn't seem to catch a PORS bus, but we noticed that a POFQ bus was waiting. We just hopped on that bus and took a 10-minute walk down the lovely Sassagoula River Trail from POFQ back to our building in PORS' Alligator Bayou. (Taking an alternate bus back from a park and walking that path is a nice option to consider, regardless of which Port Orleans resort you choose.)
