The OP asked which mode would get to MK the earliest. That is the bus ~ a direct, less than 5 minute ride from WL to disembark at the MK. I *think* the bus begins to operate a half hour earlier than the boat.
While I agree that the boat is more scenic, it is a slower ride and takes longer to dock and load/unload passengers.
Where else does the MK bus stop once it has picked up WL guests? In all my stays at WL (most recently earlier this year) the MK bus has always been direct, and the MK bus stop is in the closest bay to the MK entrance (slot 3).The boat is faster because of the stops that the bus makes along the way (it is unfortunately not direct) and where the stop at MK is located now with the newer loops. It takes about 7 minutes from the boat to gate and 12-15 minutes from the bus to gate. I may have timed it once or twice.
Unless there has been a change in recent months, the WL has a dedicated MK bus. Because WL is close to MK, the wait time for the bus is not long because it returns to the lodge after dropping off guests.Last time I was there, I took a bus because it was pulling up right as I was walking outside. It was faster than the boat, however not at scenic. I think it all depends on when your choice of transportation arrives at the resort. The boats are frequent. I'm not sure If the wl has a dedicated bus that runs back and forth?? Either way, you are looking at a 15 minute trip door to door
As of this past May, it still had its own dedicated bus. Not sure why everyone is fighting you on this. The bus is obviously the quickest.Unless there has been a change in recent months, the WL has a dedicated MK bus. Agree that the Epcot bus ride is long with the Ft. Wilderness stop. One problem with your suggestion is that first thing in the morning, the express monorail will not transport guests back to the TTC from the MK ~ the ferry is the only option. So an alternate choice would be bus to MK, resort monorail to TTC and transfer to Epcot line. Or boat from WL to Contemporary, ride monorail to TTC and transfer. What is everyone's' experience with going to Epcot? The bus seemed extremely long with a stop at Fort Wilderness. Would a Bus to MK, then express monorail to TTC be better?

My only issue with the bus to Epcot from the WL is where it seems to always drop off at Epcot, super far from the gate. And this is not because it then turns around and picks up from some far off stop @ the Epcot bus pickups, as I'm talking before "rope drop" it drops me off at the red circled area and then leaves the park entirely, why can't it drop of closer for Pete's sake? And it's not that I'm super lazy, but I'm traveling with some elderly folks who don't need to start their day with a marathon just to get to the gate.

I don't think any resort has a bus directly to the TTC, do they? I could be very wrong, as I've never looked for one. But then, the walk down the Epcot monorail station is oddly long too. That's my other issue. I feel that the bus stop is so far away from the entrance. This is the reason i prefer to arrive and leave via Monorail.
Just wish that wilderness lodge had a quick early morning route to the TTC.
