My kids love the volcano pool at the Poly! I personally didn't like the way the bottom sloped down, but thats just me and its shallow at the foot of the slide. Didn't try out the quiet pool.

If the big pool isn't open at the WL we will use the smaller pool by the villas to cool off if need be, but in March I'm not so sure it will be needed. We will probably just take out rest time in the room or lounging in the resort.

OK! Will have to google some pool pics...Volcano sounds neat!!! Did you ride the monorail/boat to get there from lodge or bus? I am curious now how to work it in.....thanks!

Well we stayed at the Poly a few years ago so thats where my experience comes from (its nice to watch the MK fireworks from the beach). If I were going swimming and had access to a car I would drive over.

We are going down Jan 27 to Feb 3. Does anybody know what parts of the pool area will be open if any at all. My daughter really was looking forward to the hot tub.

Thanks,
Mike

As far as I know, only the large pool will be closed. The smaller pool by the villas as well as the kiddie pool and spas should be open.

Is there more than one hot tub area? We only stayed once so I don't know. This was in the allearsnet newsletter so I am concerned they will all be closed:

"Wilderness Lodge's Silver Creek Springs pool and hot tub will be closed January 29 through March 2".

Thanks,
Mike

There is also a hot tub by the smaller pool near the villas.

And as the WL letter say, the spas should remain open, just the larger pool is scheduled to be closed. *shrugs*

My letter said the kiddie pool as well as the hot, and cold spas will remain available for use during the "majority" of the refurbishment period. Along with the Hidden Springs pool you will also be granted access to the pool at the Contemporary, just a short boat ride away.
