Wilderness Lodge Refurbishments?

We were at the Villas feom 11/30-12/11 and they were putting up scaffolding on the ?North-West? wing. The Pool side wing closest to the boat launch to Magic Kingdom. I think I have a photo at home to post, but it seems that it may be exterior painting/renovations only.

If I'm not mistaken, the rooms have been painted, furniture has been replaced as well as some carpeting. I'm not sure of the extent of the refurb, but I did read about it here not too long ago.

I hope the refurbishment project isn't major and drags on into the summer days. I sure as heck won't want to go back to the Wilderness Lodge and have some of the great essence of the resort ruined by construction!! I thought the rooms were amazing as is during my last trip.

I think the rooms are complete. I know that they installed LCD TV's along with new bedding etc. We had a completed room in September.

I got a letter from Wilderness Lodge that the pool will be closed begining January 29, 2007 until late March 2007 for refurbishment. The kiddie pool and hot & cold spas will remain open during the majority of the refurbishment. The Hidden Springs pool will be available as well as use of the pools at the Contemporary & Polynesian.

Nope, thats the main pool. We just made reservations at the WL yesterday for march and they didn't say anything about the pool rehab, but we already knew about it. I've seen the end of rehab listed as the first week in March, we won't be there until the 14th so I hope its open by then.

Well thanks much....I never got a letter from the lodge but we will be able to use it a few days anyhow.....good to know for planning purposes! Where is the kiddie pool by the villas?:animwink:

We have reservations for the Wilderness Lodge March 11-17 and we got a letter yesterday saying that the main pool would be closed during our stay.

My SIL & I both got a letter last week (I think Friday) about the pool closing. Our stay will be the last week of March. We did make our reservations when the 2007 packages were just released, so maybe they are notifying in order of reservation number???? I'm actually hoping that the pool will still be closed for part of our stay and we will take a trip over to the Poly. Legal pool hopping :D
