Wilderness Lodge Oct 1 Advice

I was considering staying with some family at Wilderness Lodge for October 1 rather than battling the Magic Kingdom parking lot on that day. If I did this what would be the best and quickest option? Boat (Water Taxi) or Bus? Will taking the boat or bus get us to Magic Kingdom before the TTC guests?

Thanks!

Yes
Boat is the most direct route, otherwise, it would be the Orange line bus which would stop at Wilderness Lodge first before going to the MK bus corral.
*Note as the OP changed their point of origin from Fort Wilderness to Wilderness lodge after this response was posted, its kinda off as the transportation options are a bit different.

You staying at the cabins or the lodge? If it's the cabin, the transportation there is much slower than the lodge.

Regardless, consider an Uber if you don't mind paying a little extra.

The lodge. I thought about a Uber as well but the drop off is the TTC right? The better option would be the Contemporary but Disney security may not allow Uber drop offs especially on Oct 1.

I've Ubered to the Contemporary before without any issues and done the walk. I'm not sure if there are any measures in place to prevent that now. Maybe someone else has more current info? Regardless, I imagine you can find a work around with the Uber driver.

Your best off taking the boat to the Magic Kingdom. It'll probably be a lot faster. I'm curious how many buses they're running from WL to MK since they have the boats.

A bus runs regularly along with the boat and is often a faster form of transportation since the ride from the Lodge to MK is less than 5 minutes.
That's good to know! I wasn't if being short staffed, Disney stopped the buses to MK and was exclusively using the boat. I think they did that for Pop and AoA. They wanted guests to use the Skyliner and they didn't run the buses at all.

The boat doesn’t run during inclement weather, which is another plus for the bus.
The boat operates a half hour prior to park opening, while the bus typically operates 45 min to 1 hr prior to park open.

Just stayed there last week - Boat is easiest. To MK. To Epcot we boated to MK, then we monorailed to TC then to Epcot. For DHS bus. But we then rode the skyliner over to Epcot to enjoy more Food and Wine.

One watch out, if you have shorter folks(kids or spouses) the higher beds can be murder to get into. My wife is rather short and she has had some knee issues - we ended up getting a stepping stool for her to be able to get in and out of bed. Things you don't think about.
