Wilderness Lodge Concierge

I was just wondering if any one had any information about the Wilderness Lodge Concierge room. I have checked out the review on this site as well as allears.net and most of the reviews are pretty old. I was just wondering if anyone had stayed there not to long ago and what they did or did not like about their experiences there.

thanks,

I've never stayed in concierge but like you, I looked at it (for my honeymoon last April). In the end we decided that we wouldn't spend enough time in the hotel to make the upgrade worthwhile so we just got a nice woods view room (and it was nice - a view of the castle and wishes!) and got room service for breakfast every couple of days. Well worth it!

From what I hear it's quite good although if you've stayed at conceirge in 4 or 5 star hotels then it might not live up to the standards.

The Wilderness Lodge concierge is nice. In fact, it's one of the best food offerings in my opinion. The lounge sitting tables are spread out around the 7th floor baclony. There are tv sitting areas on both sides of the lobby. The lounge itself is in it's own room and really nice. The concierge cm's are in the elevator lobby and seem a little out of place there but the resort wasn't built with concierge in mind.

The rooms are nothing special from the regular rooms, except that they have DVD players. In fact, all of the rooms (as I recall) are in the alcoves and very enclosed. This makes the rooms a little darker than most.

Of all of the conceirge levels I've stayed at, the Wilderness Lodge is the one that I feel has the best value for my money. I like the Polynesian for it's location and dedicated building but the food offerings and price are not as good to me. YC, BC, AKL concierge are all just okay to me ~ nice but nothing fantastic for the extra price.

Concierge is nice, but only if you spend a lot of time at the hotel. If you are out at the parks from open to close w/ food reservations at the dining establishments, then concierge is definitely not worth the money. The rooms aren't any different, it's just the little food times scattered throughout the day. So if you aren't there to take sit in the lounge and take advantage of them, it is just a waste of money.

We have stayed at the WL the last 10 years. Last year, I spluged and we stayed 10 nights on the Concierge floor! It was wonderful.

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are spluging again this year!

The cast members are great. We enjoyed the food offereings and the small little perks as well. The WL candies on the pillow each night was fun to come home to!

We have stayed there the past 3 years and last trip it was a blessing as 3 of us got ill, but did not have to go anywhere and relaxed...besides food to appease the down and out...the food was always awesome....much of it came from Artists Point or WCC....we actually ate dinner there 4 nights and breakfast everyday which helps to offset the additional cost....we got our portions of fresh fruit and veggies that are sometimes missing from your days in the parks and at night very nice desserts were to be had. Artis Point Berry Cobblers and cookies...beer and wine as well. Nice there was a sink to wash up at if you hit in on the way in....gummy bears, nuts, goldfish and pretzels were there between feastings for snackage which we took back to the room later or zipped into a sandwhich bag for later consumption.

There is also a quite large screen TV in the main area that many were watching games on and we borrowed DVDS from the CM desk on that floor when we were ill which was nice. The CM's were very friendly and remembered my children from previous trips....:king: On a couple nights it was much fun to take our dessert down to a window on that floor to watch the fireworks and then hit bedtime right away....

it was very quiet and I liked that it was a bit more private for traffic reasons. The CM took us up to the roof when we arrived the first time as our room was not yet ready, and another trip they took us into the two large suites...Yellowstone and Yosemite Suites ?...veryyyyyyyy nice.......told them they could grant one of my dreams and put me there!!!:king: (Maybe next trip....):sohappy:

I liked it as one year we got a room in the lobby and it was not quite so magical...view of a roof and very loud noise from the WCC at night....being on the 7th floor guaranteed a quieter room too.

I will add that the room was not any nicer and I would have liked the bathrooms to be a bit cleaner for the price I paid....mildew on the tile grout and when I dropped something on the floor I noticed a thick dark ring under toilet room that had not been addressed for eons....:lookaroun....I don't like feeling like I need to pack my own cleaning supplies when I pay so much for a room but c'est la vie....:animwink:
