Wilderness Lodge background music

There was a great thread focusing on the Poly “smell” so here is a question for you.
If you hear the Wilderness Lodge background music when watching the movie it originally came from do you automatically relate it to the Wilderness Lodge?
The westerns, The Magnificent Seven, Wyatt Earp, The Big Country, Dance with Wolves and How the West was Won have been shown on television recently. Viewing these movies I found when I heard a piece of music I recognized as Wilderness Lodge background music I began thinking about the Wilderness Lodge and WDW in general. The next thing I knew I was watching the WDW vacation planning DVD.
My New Year’s resolution is to save the money to go back

I have the entire loop on my ipod.

I love the WL. I'm staying at the Villas for 5 nights next month, then staying at the Grand Floridian for 2 nights. Never stayed at GF before, so I wanted to try it, but I keep thinking I'll be disappointed not being at WL those nights.

I have the loop too. We listen to it everytime we go out to Yellowstone and the Tetons. We'll also listen to the Frontierland background music Riders in the Sky cowboy songs. Doesn't get much better than being out west and listening to great music!

I've never seen an accurate listing of the loop, nor the actual loop or individual tracks, in circulation before. Heck, even the playlist the front desk supplies was, at least the last time I checked, still incorrect. It took a few months to put the list together (damn you track 7!), but for those that want something accurate, you can find my list, compiled with the help of a few friends, here.

I listen to the Wilderness Lodge loop and the Soarin' queue loop at work a lot. In both instances, I immediately think of WDW when I hear that music while watching a movie or in the real world.

Happened to watch "Steel Magnolias" for the first time last month, and throughtout the entire opening credits all I could think of was the Soarin' queue.

Same thing when I went to see Film Night at the Boston Pops last year. They played a suite of music from "Far & Away". All through the first part of it I was thinking in the back of my head "I know this music from somewhere...". It wasn't until they got back to the theme toward the end that I realized it was also in the Soarin' queue. (My problem was that while the theme was the same, they didn't actually play the piece of music that they use in the queue, so it wasn't *quite* the same)

Could you be referring to something like this? http://www.amazon.com/Always-Follow...sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1262293560&sr=8-2

And that also happened to me quite a few times. I.E. when I was watching "Pearl Harbor" once and the scene with the lovers flying immediately brought me back to The Land and I was all, "Wow! I know this piece!" :D

You bet! Happens all the time with me. The Disney connection always rises to the forefront; the actual film or source of the music almost seems an afterthought.

Sort of, but not quite... It's that in Soarin' they use the piece "The Land Race", but that particulr piece of music wasn't included in the 4 or 5 they played as part of the medley at the concert. But because the same musical theme shows up in many of the pieces throughout the movie, it was ina different key or tempo or slightly arranged differently than the piece from the queue.
