Hi everyone! Iv'e been looking into doing the Wild Africa Trek tour with my girlfriend. It looks really cool but its to expensive at $189. I'd really appreciate if anyone who's been on the tour can tell me about their experience to help me make my decision. It's not really in our budget but we're willing to make it happen if its worth it.

Hey test track,

I took this trek last year and will be taking it again this year...Yes it is a little expensive but I think it is worth it. the views you of being up and close with the hippos and alligators are awesome. Then when you get on the private savannah truck, you actually get to stop and look at the animals longer then you would on the regular ride (the other people actually look over at you and look jelous)...Your two guides will be taking your pictures throughout the tour and you will get a cd of all the pictures a couple of weeks after your vacation. I really can't say enough about this tour but it is worth the money..good luck on your decision.

My DH and I wanted to do this. Is that the confirmed price? I thought it was more then that on a site that I saw prices. Is that with the $50 discount if you take it at a particular time? That promotion ends before we get there. We really want to do this but was concerned of the cost as well.

I called several weeks ago to find out about a price for December. The cast member I spoke with gave me two prices, one was about $150 and the other about $170. I called last week to confirm the price and possibly make the reservation and was told it was $201.29 per person. Not quite sure how the price got so jacked up in two week's time? My son really wants to do this so I'm still thinking about it myself.

Me and my family (wife, son-8, daughter-16) did it last summer. It was good time. There was really 3 phases: Walking, Driving and Sitting.

Walking portion where u get to to see hippo's and crocs. A little adventure crossing rope bridges, but nobody was scared. Then the was the driving tour to the "mini-resort". The best part was the little stay at the "bouma". The snack/lunch (little more than a snack, but quite a full meal) and then you got to leisurely sit around and just take in all the sites and action out there.

So if I have read everything correctly, the CD of photos that you get from the Trek can actually be used for ALL of your photos so that you don't have to pre-order Photopass? If that is the case, can you "upgrade" to Photopass+ and pay the difference?

When it first started you were given a photopass voucher that allowed you to combine all your photopass pics with the trek pics on one CD. They don't do that any more. Now they mail you a photo CD specific to your trek with no opportunity/ability to add photopass pics.
