Has anyone ever done the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom. If so, how much is it, and is it worth doing?

Did the Trek lack February. It was one of the best tours we have ever done at WDW. One perk that the offered but has been discontinued was a photo pass with pictures of your Trek on it. You could also use the pass the rest of your visit. This was worth $100 by itself and made the cost of the trek a bit easier to digest. I don't know how enjoyable it would be during the summer months with the heat.

$189 normal season, but they do raise the price during peaks. My wife and I really enjoyed it in October. Check the this post for my comments on it.

I did the Trek in the early afternoon last summer and really enjoyed it. I personally didn't find the heat to be too much of an issue.
The Trek is split into two sections. The first half is walking through various terrains and over high "unstable" bridges (they are perfectly safe and you are harnessed in the entire time but they are designed to make you feel like you are on a trek in a more natural environment). Note that if you are particularly scared of heights then this is a tour probably best avoided. The second half is a safari which stops regularly at any points where something of interest might be happening in the savannah. It also stops in places that the regular Kilimanjaro Safaris do not stop in. You also stop for a break at the Boma (not the restaurant!) where you are treated to a snack of sorts, consisting of 6-8 different local foods. I found a lot of them crossed over with other cuisines, for example, there was one item that tasted just like coronation chicken.
As others have already posted you receive a photo CD of your Trek. The photos on it are a combination of "best of" shots that have been taken on previous treks and ones taken on your trek. There are two guides on every tour and while one leads the other is taking photos so you get quite a varied range of natural and posed shots. The CD is mailed to you within about a week or so of your Trek.
I really really enjoyed this Tour and it certainly was one of the more unique ones. (I've also done Segway Round the World, Keys to the Kingdom and Backstage Magic) and I'm definitely glad I did it.

I did the trek last Jan and was one of the first tours to go. When I went the price was the intro cost of 129 per person which I thought was very reasonable (especially since you got the CD). At 189, I would still suggest it if you don't mind spending the money and it interests you. However, at that price now, it really doesn't have repeatability for me anymore.
