Wild Africa Trek Promotional Shoot- Sept TR Part 2

So if you read my trip report "I didn't get married, but I won the lottery and took a walk on the wild side at WDW!" you know that my friend Autumn and I got picked (along with another family) to particapate in a promotional shoot for the Wild Africa Trek at the Animal Kingdom Park during our recent trip. Basically, they took us on the normal trek, but had a photographer there and we had to sign papers saying they could use our pictures for promotional purposes (and we wouldn't sue if we got hurt). Well, they said we should be getting a CD of the photos taken in the mail in about 6 weeks, but they came yesterday (2 weeks later) and I wanted to share them with you all.

I have no idea what photos they will use or how or when, but I thought most came out pretty good. We got 200 photos, though I know they had more. I'm actually disappointed one of the pictures I posed for didn't make it to the CD. Now I know we all gave our permission for these pictures to be used, but I don't feel very comfortable posting pictures of other people, but mostly other people's childern so I'll keep the pictures of the other family to a minimum.

So without further ado...

Our First Group Photo. Autumn and I on the far right. The other family in the middle and "Disney People" on the left. The promotional guy who offered us the experiance is the guy in dark green in the back. Not sure who the rest of them were.

There is a max of 12 trekkers on each journey, so the 11 of us plus the photographer was 12. Then we had 2 guides.

Yeah, that woman we're all trying to scare is one of our guides.

That thing in my ear is an ear piece so I could hear both guides as we trekked alonged. At this point we were walking along the Pangani Trail and we were a "large" group. It was nice to not have to worry about crowding around so we could hear. We could do want we wanted and still listen.

We stopped to learn about the hippos skull and teeth.

And that's it. A great experiance. We were very lucky we got to do it for free because at $150 per person, it's not something I'll do again anytime soon. But if you've got the money, I highly recommend it.

We had an African themed meal. Dried meats, curry chicken salad, shrimp, hummus and pita bread, fruit salad and cucumber salad served with smoked salmon (though I think it was more raw than cooked). We had a mixed tropical drink to go with it (orange, gauva and something else). It was decorated with an edible flower, it was all good. I didn't try the flower though.

Sounds pretty yummy, minus the smoked salmon. I like my salmon very well cooked! :)

Thanks for sharing these pictures, they are awesome! This was already on my to-do list, but now I really, really want to do it!

My daughter and I did this in JUNE!!!! It was so hot and we were soaked by the time we took the harnesses off, but it was awesome!! So glad you went, your pics are cute :0) The harnesses are only flattering with people that don't have a booty - unfortunately that did look good on me - LOL> And I tried the flower that came in our meal.........YUCK!!!!

Glad you had a great birthday!!

Are the animal pictures part of the ones that Disney took or did you take them with your camera?
Thanks

Sorry it took me so long to respond, had to take a short break from the "all Disney all the time" mindset. Anyway, all these pictures were taken by Disney, but I did bring my own camera on the trek.

Yeah, those harnesses were horrible. And I'm glad I didn't try the flower, I'm sure I've eaten worse stuff, but I justg couldn't get my mind around eating a flower.
