If it wasn't for JP Morgan not wanting to back Nikola Tesla's research because Morgan couldn't think of a way to charge for wireless electricity we would have that right now.

A hit? Really?
Sure. It's the convince of getting your fast passes for the day without having to wait in line. People readily pay for privilege at Universal and MM for front of the line passes and scheduled ride times. Disney will spin it as the ultimate time saver. They will pay if there is perceived value in it.

key word...perceived.

Exactly, and as a tourist paying top dollar to visit DLR I perceive paying a fee for Fastpass, digital or otherwise, to be a ripoff, particularly when Disney continually increases park admission fees and hotel rates but does next to nothing to control the number of people they let in the place.

Note to Disney: Please stop reaching for my wallet every time I blink.

If they were gonna do it, it should be included for free with those who buy the maxipass.
Maybe? Would a tourist pay $10 per person for maxpass AND free wifi to use it with? Seems like they should go hand in hand in order to use the service. I can see free wifi as being extremely slow if 60k users jumped on it for 12 hours a day while in the park while they watch Netflix in line. I'm sure there is a way to fix that. It needs to be limited to people using a paid service in the park.

I say yes but with lots of limitations to acces only Disney related sites.
I would hate to be behind someone in an attraction or show using the free wifi to hear sports or movies or video games with their bright screens.
People or more conservative about things like that when they have to use their own data.

That's what I said....... People who buy Maxipass should be able to access the WiFi for free. Keep people not using the Maxipass off it.

I'll be a visitor from out of the country in the summer without a data plan for the US. Free Wifi would be very appreciative.
Amen. While I can continue on my domestic carrier at Disneyland, when I was at Shanghai it really was a huge help. The same should be available to international visitors at Disneyland.

One of the biggest benefits that hasn't been mentioned is the ability to check wait times/hours/entertainment/photopass without having to drain data. Being able to out strategize the masses is part of a fabulous Disney Parks experience!

Free wifi would allow Disney to have more opportunity for interaction with the guests. I am by no means highly savvy about tech stuff but even I can envision things like interactive games—a Disneyfied Pokemon, maybe?—messaging about special merchandise or rare characters appearing, access to additional information about attractions, and of course lots of promotion of Disney movies and products. I’m just surprised they haven’t done it already.

They don't need to give out free wifi for that. It could all be built into the Disneyland app.
