Hello Everyone

I will be visiting "the World" in December and more-than-likely bringing my laptop with me. I refuse to pay $10/day for data access at my resort (Pop Century) and we'll have a rental car. My question - do any of the locals know of a WiFi hotspot close to WDW?

Just be sure you aren't spending more than $10 in gas driving around trying to find your "free" Wifi hotspot....

The Disney executives should be ashamed of themselves for charging their guests $10 a day to connect to the internet.

It can truly be said that Walt Disney never charged anyone to use the internet.

I don't have the address but when we were there in Dec we took a break in the middle of the day and went to a Panera Bread that was close by. Sat on the patio, eat a bagel and surfed the net.

Awesome link-- thanks!

Edit: I'm really surprised that there aren't any hot spots in DTD, particularly at the McD's that's there...many of the McD's in the Detroit area have free Wi-Fi now...
I do not know for sure but I would guess that Disney will not let them have it. Not only am I sure that they want their $10 a day but could you imagine the chaos at the 2 McDonald's on property with everyone trying to get online. Also WDW's size and isolation kind of prevents any signal overlap from surrounding WiFi locations.

Also, I *believe* that the access at Wide World of Sports is free. I think there's a map on the WWoS website showing coverage in the complex. I'm almost positive that the parking lot is covered, so you could just drive down there, park and connect. Or, if you feel a little "guilty" of taking it for free, you could always grab lunch at the All-Star Cafe.
