Wi-fi

And not all the lobbies at all the hotels have wifi either....several have their own proprietary wifi that is locked without a public access code.

Most hotel rooms now have wired internet service. Be sure to bring your ethernet cable - the one they provide is 2.5 feet in length.

I used to hate this, but now since I got a better phone I dont have to worry about it. And now I know how to use my phone as a modem for my laptop so I can browse while at the resort.

i think that wifi should be available in the parks because there are apps for the iphone and ipod that give you up to date wait times and park hours. I like to look at them even though im not at WDW but having this info with me while im there would be very handy. After all, isn't using that app while at the park is what its made for?

i have the itouch so I access the net over wifi.

Disney didn't make the app, why would they invest in the infrastructure to accommodate it?

Eventually, everyone will have full internet access by way of their phones, why invest in a technology that is likely to be obsolete in a few years?

Much as some may not like it, Disney is in the business of providing a theme park experience. Anything they do separate from that has to have a tangible return on investment to be justifiable. High-capacity WiFi connectivity throughout the parks sufficient to satisfy potentially thousands if not tens of thousands of users a day just doesn't sound financially viable to me. And trust me, if it was available, I'd be a heavy user myself.

I know disney didn't make the app. But it was made for the purpose to use it in the parks.
I just don't know why an app would be made in the first place if you can't use it.

it is cool to look at from home though. :]

Because there is money to be made off of it. Also the fee to use the wifi in the resorts is crazy, 10 dollars a day is crazy. When I went down last december I had to have internet access everyday for work for only about a half hour and I had to pay 100 dollars to use it, absurd.

iphones and such would run off the cell network. The ipod wouldn't but if you are running iphone apps or even new droid apps then you would get them through the cell net.

I really think that they should include it at the resorts, or at least have a Wi-Fi zone in the park, it would make life so much easier. Of course, then they would make less money, and Disney is that kind of company.

I was able to use the internet at Disney for 6 days for only $30. The question is did you have to go online at the same time every day or were you able to do it at different times of the each day. If you had to go online at the same time everyday then I can see why it cost you so much. If you were able to go online at different times of the day then you could have done it for at least half that amount. Disney charges you for 24 hours of access, so you could log in on the first day at Noon and as long as you logged back on the next day before noon and did what ever you needed to do before Noon, then you could get two days of access for the cost of one day. You could then do this for the 3rd and 4th day and so on.

Because Disney and Verizon have their own application that they sell for $10 for a 6-month period. It's accessed through the Verizon phone network, and that's what they support in the parks.

As for why someone would make an app that can't be used, you'd have to ask the programmers of said app.
