Why was Mr. Toad's Wild Ride removed from MK? Any reason other then creating Pooh?

Anyone know the real reason they removed this seemingly pretty popular attraction?
Toad was removed because of the freemason satanists who took control of TWDC, who did not want Toad's 'going to hell and meet the devil' scene. Our children are now driven across sweet honey pots and puffy clouds to lull them into a deceptive sense of security....

All completely moot points.

They weren't moot for me when I was considering going there and then opted not to. There's also the question of transportation, as Southern California's public transportation leaves something to be desired, as evidenced in THIS clip from a documentary film.

That's right, you've never been to Disneyland. You've never seen the castle, so how can you use its size, or any aspect of it as a reason you feel all of Disneyland is not up to par? Now your opinion is even more moot.

I've lived in Southern California all my life, specifically Los Angeles, which is 20+ miles away from Anaheim. I've never owned a car, and I've been taking public transportation for nearly nine years, since I was fifteen. There are multiple ways of getting around Southern California, including Disneyland, using public transportation. I've been doing it for years.

There was no point of the Speed clip, unless you were just posting it for humor's sake.

My sister has been there, and her word is good enough for me.

Disneyland Sleeping Beauty Castle is the best castle. I wish I was there right now, wandering the corridors of the castle walkthrough, then exiting into the courtyard and riding all the dark rides, including Mr. Toad. At dusk, I'd hop on the Storybook Land Canal Boats, and make sure to do Roger Rabbit before Toontown closes at 8:30. Then, it's back to marathoning Haunted Mansion. Okay, I've convinced myself I should be there right now!

To be fair, Pooh gets pretty creepy in the middle with the "Heffalumps and Woozles" sequence.

We went on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Haunted Mansion was on the agenda. As we left the Mansion, our Tour Guide gave us a gift.... He actually rattled off the words inscribed on Toad's tombstone - which really can't be read from that distance.....

"Here Lies Toad
and that's not remarkable
Winnie the Pooh
was far more Marketable".

Not to mention its wonderful addition of Star Wars Land, which thankfully won't be going into MK, but the thematically appropriate DHS.

Part of the reason for the short queue was the fact that it had a great capacity for a Fantasyland Dark Ride of the time with the two tracks/versions existing in the WDW version.

Let's play a game. No cheating (ie Google)!

Name 5 characters from the story Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is based on (other than the character in the name of the ride). Name the story as well.

Good.

Now, name 5 characters from the story the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is based on (other than the character in the name of the ride).

If you could do it, good for you! How many people do you think can actually do that? That's why the ride was changed. Not the sole reason, but a very big part of it.
When I was just starting my CP at the Magic Kingdom, our instructors did this. Then they asked how many of us owned ANY Mr. Toad merchandise. Afterwards, they asked how many of us owned Winnie the Pooh merchandise. I was one of the only people who had a Mr. Toad VHS tape (yes, that old), but almost everyone raised their hand for Winnie the Pooh.

Mr. Toad and SWA gave Fantasyland some much needed grit and menace (as did 20,000LUTS).

In my opinion, there needs to be a new wave of Imagineers that aren't afraid to "go there," if you know what I mean. It's okay to be disturbed by an attraction. It's downright healthy, if you ask me.

It all depends on who you ask but low guest numbers and the fact that the average person could not tell you who Mr Toad is if you put a gun to their head seem to be the most logical reasons.

I would agree, but from what I understand, it still remains incredibly popular at Disneyland.

But this all leads to my confusion that I've had for years. The Magic Kingdom is far bigger than Disneyland, yet over the years, whenever a new attraction at Magic Kingdom is brought in, another is brought out. Disneyland doesn't seem to have this problem. And given the traffic issues at the MK, from a higher level, this makes absolutely zero sense.
