WDW is alredy able to track where you go with their ticket media and Key to the World Card. By accessing your account folio in the Disney Property Management System "DPMS" any FD cm would be able to see exactly what you charged and where. We can also query any ticket you have to determine what park you entered on which day and at what time. The issue is that there isnt much to do with this data except problem solving. It doesn't offer much marketing value whatsoever. As for attractions it is much more helpful to look at raw attendance than which guest preffers which attraction.

Nathan; thanks! These are all good things to know.

I agree that currently the mag-stripe cards offer no marketing value whatsoever. But just think what the marketing folks could do if a smart card allowed them to custom tailor materials for me based on my personal preferences. So, while the current cards can tell them when I entered the park, a smart card could really tell them a lot more and offer an enhanced trip for all who have them. Who knows?

Well, Disney has always made many an effort to be enviromentally friendly....perhaps the paper tickets are recycled or something...:veryconfu

I think most people keep their tickets after finally finishing up the day in the park. If it is thrown away, I would think it would be in a room trash can, which would be pretty time consuming to go through and pick out the used tickets once thrown away.

What I meant was that they might produce the tickets with recycled materials...one of the things that I kept noticing the last time I went was the amount of things that are recycled (i.e. napkins, bags, stationary)....I'm sure they don't go through the trash!!! (although, it is Disney..... )

You would think after paying hundreds of dollars they could give you something a little more substantial since they must withstand several days of sweat, suntan lotion, FastPass machines, water rides, (rain?) I pay $50 for a Six Flags season pass and you get a piece of plastic (like a credit card) with your photo and a bar code on it. Even if you lose it no one else can use it.

Hey!
I agree with yah! Yah pay all that money and yah don't even get anything sturdy?? They really need to improve that.
